I love your kitchen. I also love the grey wall color. Looking at the flooring, a tan or beige color would be nice on the kitchen walls. You have color in the flooring, the nice cabinets and the countertops and tan or beige walls would make everything pop.

i like the gray color but what accent color should i use? should i keep the gray on all the walls,under cabinets, where dining room table is? the gray is by sherwin wiiliams dovetail. the flooring is midnight mist by mannington . just thought maybe i need another color? dont know

Is the dining room the same color as the kitchen? It looks a little different. If so, I would leave it as is. I think the color you have is nice also.

I think the grey looks great. Very clean and contemporary looking. I'd love to see an art piece on the dining room wall. You can pull accents colors from that for accessories.

The problem is that grey has cool undertones while your floor has both cool and warm undertones and your cabinets have warm undertones. The soultion is to go with the warm undertones as they dominate.

Rather than painting the entire wall purchase a sample of both colors then paint the area between the dining room door frame and the kitchen cabinets. Paint the upper portion one color and the lower portion the other color then live with them for a couple of days. You will know which one works best. It would be great if you could paint a strip of white between the two of them and between the upper color and the grey so your eyes register the true color.

Everything looks fine. You can add accent color with accessories, like a nice bowl in white or another dish, candles, a table runner, a rug under the dining table and artwork on the walls. I like the pumpkin color, it would work well with the wall color and flooring.

I would paint both rooms the same color or maybe go a shade lighter in one room. I painted my old kitchen gold and the adjoining dining room the same color just one shade lighter. you couldn't really tell the difference, but the kitchen received a lot of sunlight and the dining room didn't so the slight change in the paint color helped to balance the natural light in the rooms. you may need to do the same thing.

I love what you've going on here - especially the warm cabinets with the blueish gray walls. Your cabinets are beautiful. I can just see the edge of your table and chairs... would you ever consider painting them and letting them be the accent color? I think a dark charcoal on your table and chairs would look great, and it would let the warm tones in your floor pop. Personally, I'd stay away from greens... the blue/gray is calming and classic.

Your cabinetry is a very beautiful color. Your cabinetry, because there is a lot of it and because it is at eye level, is the most dominant element of color in your space. With such a warm color my inclination would be to stay in the warm-neutral color range. Although the color you now have on the wall is beautiful it appears to have a cool base rather than a warm one. My suggestion would be to go to the warm neutral section of an on-line paint company like sherwin williams or benjamin moore and take a look at gray colors that have "taupe" in them. Yolo also has some nice colors called Stone. As far as adding green into the mix, I would look at a sage green. This usually has a warm gray as well as blue mixed into it which would work well with your floors.

laurie lile designs, i picked up the ssentials color chart from sherwin williams, i thought that it might help me pick the right color, but iam more confused then ever. its just iam no good with color and dont have a clue as to pick a hue from it. i already have sherwin williams dovetail on my walls currently as you see it. please if you could help, the staff at the store doesnt help much. its so hard to decide with such little chip cards and besides the travel time for any questions is about a hour away. if you have any ideas please send them my way

The grey is nice. Can you add a backsplash? Change the knobs and handles on the cabinets to black or bronze .

I was surprised when the homeowner in the attached photo chose a pale minty-green color for her kitchen wall. Until we applied it, I cringed at the idea. Yes I know we refinished the oak cabinets as well, but the new wall color and brushed-nickel hardware made a striking difference. This photo is prior to the installation of the granite-look composite counter.

What is the color of your Serengeti slate by Mannington? Is it midnight mist or is a mixture of 2 different colors? It's beautiful and just what I would like in my kitchen. Thanks
