For March: Finish my son's Ga Tech blankie. March lotto blocks, and hopefully April, as well. Will need to be sewing less and gardening more this month, as Florida is coming into SPRING! The orange trees are blooming...the peach trees are blooming and things are bustin' out all over. Need to get off my b*tt! Nothing has been done in my gardens since JULY, with first a foot injury and then a knee injury. Hope to be on the topside of both of those and get the yard shaped up for a beautiful spring and summer in gorgeous East Central Florida!

March will be a slow quilting month, not by choice. I have several home and personal projects which need to be finished. But I will finish knotting and burying threads on the Spider Web in free minutes. And I do have two patterns and fabrics ready if I need a quilt fix. Must also neaten up the cutting table and put auditioned fabric back in its proper bins.

Wow March is here already, just 3 months and then my son with be in junior high... wow! We have had an exceptionally wet and cold year so far, so ready for warm spring flip-flop weather. For March I would like to:

1. finish my sister's cross-stitch bookmark
2. make more Granny Square blocks
3. find my grid paper (that has gotten misplaced in the move - it's probably in a box in the laundry room) so I can start planning and designing my son's MineCraft quilt (I found some quilts on Pinterest that will be helpful to look at, but I am wanting to do some different character blocks then what I found online.)

My goals:

1. Finish pp miniature
2. Finish stack & whack top I put away in Jan.
3. Start baby quilt for DH's boss's new grand baby due in June.

March goals:

1. Finish lotto blocks at least through June

2. Work on technique for crochetting so I can crochet while traveling

3. Design and make a Kitchen-aid mixer cover for my son

4. Get a plan for the layout of the February blocks and get that underway. I was hoping to get that going before end of April - but not looking like that can get finished - just started by that time.

I've been working a little on my paper-pieced birds of paradise wall hanging. My language gets so "colorful" when I PP with all the strange angles and shapes that this project has. I swear that I rip one seam for every two I sew. As my husband says when he hits a bad golf shot - your choice of words is so limited at a time like this.

As much as I don't miss the Minnesota winter, I really miss my Minnesota sewing room. Here on Maui, I have to get everything out and then put everything away every time I sew. I know some of you have to do that all the time, but I don't think I would ever get a project finished if I had to. If I only have an hour to sew and I have to spend 10 minutes on either end to set up and take down, I always find something else to do - like read. Therefore, I'm getting a lot of reading done but not as much quilting as I'd like. Oh, well, we'll be home in three weeks and then I'll be complaining about the weather. LOL
