My home was devastated in the Super Storm Sandy. We are at floor boards right now putting it back together...would love some help ....I have solid wood paneling. The home was a fixer upper at the time, the walls in the great room were covered in this solid wood. They were stained mustard...we did a richer stain, like a reddish brown. I did all the moldings and at the time I loved the contrast. The ceilings are about 20' high and all the wood work is white white. Do I paint over them? Would that make the room more modern? Drywall is not an option, as the room area is open and around 800 square feet. I still want a contrast between my wood work, what should I consider, or just put on another layer of shellac?
