We have a house with a lot of art. The electrician placed the outlets at a regular height but it seems like it would distract the eye. Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

I'm confused ... you think the outlets that are about a foot off the ground are distracting your eye from looking at the paintings on the wall?

Receptacle cover plates can be painted to match the wall color. Please don't paint the receptacles but there are a selection of colors available that might blend in well enough to not be too distracting.

Agree with Randy. Try to have the plugs andacovers changed out in one room to a matching color. If it helps do the rest. If not, your going to make your local ele trical contractor and dry wall guys very happy.
