May we see additional photos from differing angles?

l might put display shelving with books,art ,sculpture. you don't have to limit the shelving to 3 3/4 inches.
Below is two ideas for shelf design.
There are more.

Attached are two more pictures. As far as depth, if shelving were installed it would need to be flush with the depth in order to be able to walk past the area. The wall is inset by 3 3/4 inches.

If you do shelving it will be difficult to find attractive items that will fit on such narrow shelves. I would either find a great piece of art or leave it empty.

My first reaction is bookshelves, but I have a LOT of books. Second reaction is a large fiber art piece. If you have the budget, most fiber artists love commissions, too.

I would leave it empty until you bump across some small vertical piece of art that you really like, and then it will feel like a homecoming hanging it there. :)

Thanks for all the great ideas! Now I just have to figure out which one I'll go with.....I'm thinking either a large piece of artwork, some type of large mirror or a rustic (antique) item.

3 3/4" sounds perfect for a picture rail. Perhaps family pictures? Or if you travel, pictures of places you visited?

No shelves. They'll bump into the curtains and end up looking cramped and off balance. A single thing hanging on the wall--art or artifact--with proper spacing on each side. A mirror seems a little pointless there; what would it reflect?

I would hang a large bobo plank mask:

Artwork will be visible when exiting the room. Or consider a mirror which will reflect the light from the windows!

I agree regarding mirror getting light from the windows. There's also a window directly across the room from this space.

I have a similar corner and I have a vertical rack of framed photos. We also put our tall slim Christmas tree in the corner and the photos still look nice there along side an antique table. I would expect some kind of art (tall versus wide) would look good there as well.

I would suggest small potted plants on a few shallow shelves or a floor lamp.
