The mirror is too tall for the table width. I would prefer a round or oval mirror in that spot.

I would move mirror to right side of console and place a quirky lamp that coordinates with the Shabby Chic mirror on left side of console and place large basket, mini trunk, wood crate, or metal vat underneath for visual weight.

Could that mirror work at all in that space?

If you want to work with the pieces you have, then I would suggest two, tall candle stick lamps on either side of the mirror. Then hang art work on either side of the table to balance out the space. This looks like an entry into a house, perhaps considering painting the wall with the table and mirror a different color so that it becomes a separate space.

I would add some hooks to hang items and a vase in the corner to hold umbrellas. I would use an oval mirror about the length of that mirror, a small slender table lamp for the table, maybe a small basket with some type greenery or you could use the basket as a catch all, and a few books lying on the table.

Consider changing the table to something a bit bigger and more rustic. Move the mirror to the left side of the table (even resting it on the table), adding a lovely rustic lamp on the right side. You have too much wall and too little on it for the size it is.

I have several pieces I can put around or next to mirror......I want other thoughts on what I could put around mirror for balance.....

Where is the sofa? If the sofa replaced the two chairs, you could have a sofa table behind it, eliminating the need for a table and mirror on that wall.

Then hang a huge stretched canvas in place of the mirror with lots of colors...one that draws the eye.

Try the mirror hinges down, on its side. Green plant, etc on table. Colorful print fun throw pillows on sofa.

Here is one side of couch.....I'm not sure what lamp to put with it or if this works.....until you comment. The other side I have several windows to choose from, 2 white 6 panes...... or 1 white 2 pane. Also, with looking at area rugs....should I go with a natural jute type rug like that basket on the ottoman? That color or more of a woven beige?

I would swap the couch & chairs. Re the mirror & table, the scale is wrong for them together, and with the wall - too much empty space. I might try a) swapping couch & chairs, then put the table behind the couch; b) get a larger, longer piece to go under the mirror; c) get some old windows in various sizes to put on the wall with the mirror, and / or an accordion hat rack with unique hats (Stetson, Santa, tophat, etc.), then add 3 candlesticks in heights ranging from halfway up the mirror to a couple inches above its bottom edge. Everything should be painted wood, distressed to varying degrees.

I tried the room with the couch/chairs swapped and it cut the room off. The walkway between the couch and the walls on both sides was pretty tight. The way I have it has received better reviews from family/friends, most likely due to function.

Attached a current pictures.....was thinking if the pictures frames were painted white then distressed a little? Does this help somewhat with the bare wall? Then I still need to add a lamp, and I will change out crate for the blanket instead of basket.

I was looking for a picture for you to use as inspiration. This is the best I could find somehow. I think because the mirror is so narrow, you should aim to have it off centered over the eventual console table

I think the key will be in not trying to center this narrow mirror over whatever console table you choose, but balancing the vignette with taller items on the other side.

Andrea you really like that mirror. Did you try it left of the back window? Then you can get a bigger mirror for the entry wall. The mirror is narrow so might look better on a narrow wall. Just give it a try, you already have a nail there.

Plus it would bring some French country to the room, so you can have some French country at the entry. But you don't want it in only one spot or it will always look out of place.

Would this enlarged canvas look better than that mirror? I attacked both so you could see. Otherwise I have another bigger mirror picked out that I found locally

I love the bike picture. It would help if you remove the two black frames and the stuff UNDER the table. Do you have a green plant or a vase or statue to set ON the table? And remove the mirror and try it on the back wall (not giving up here).

The table is too small for the space you are decorating. Find a picture that you like and that the layout is similar to your wall, print it. This is your inspiration picture. Measure all of the items including the wall in your 'inspiration' picture to determine the ratio of the items that you will need to achieve the look you want. For example, if the table in your inspiration photo takes up 2/3 of the inspiration wall, then you will need a table that extends 2/3rds of your wall. If the mirror in your inspiration picture is 4' x 4' centered on a wall with a width of 8', then the mirror on your wall should be the same scale. Now if you find that this isn't quite possible because of the size of your wall, you might have to choose a different inspiration wall that's more similar to yours.

Would it be better if I put the tv on console table instead of this?

I'm in search for a new entryway table now since someone stated that table looked like it was drowning......now I figured I'd have a console table I could use elsewhere. Going to check some local shops for something different that would work on that wall.

I would suggest that you get black wrought iron sconces and put one on each side of the mirror. Then, I would suggest you get a fairly large black bowl or low vase and put a colorful floral arrangement in it, but keep it fairly low. All the black will tie in beautifully with the black hardware on the white mirror.

You are hanging your pictures too high. You have 4 small black framed pictures hang two on each side of the window, but lower. Remove picture from above the tv , it's too busy. Then rethink the whole "decorate the tv " thing. Don't need two ottomans, remove small one. Is the current hall table low enough to go under the window? Might work , might not. Like the simple area rug.

Agree with your placement of the couch. Way too big to float.
Change lamp shades to simpler ones with straight sides. Current one look out of place. Do you sew? Maybe cover sofa pillows with a subtle stripe that goes with the chairs and slipcover the lg white ottoman in a textured solid color. The whites are too harsh against the sofa, even though you have the white drapes.

I am a professional watercolor artist and "color addict"! I agree... your pieces are hung too high. That is a common mistake and lowering them will make a huge difference. I like the bicycle painting for it's color, size and whimsy. Your table is too small--but don't get rid if it! There are a thousand uses for a table like that. Maybe you could replace it with a colorful bench. If you want to use the mirror, try placing it to one side of the painting. I rarely use symmetry. It can easily become uninteresting. And if you are planning to keep the mirror pure white, anything else on the wall needs to be framed ( if frames are needed ) uniformly ( the black works ). The clock beside the mirror doesn't work, mainly because it is an off-white. And I couldn't see from your photos if you have an area rug--but they really help define spaces. Good luck and have fun!
