Outlet Mystery!

I'm trying to troubleshoot an outlet in my bathroom that isn't working correctly. Here are the clues to this mystery:

1. An outlet tester (photo below) indicates that the outlet is wired correctly.

2. A multimeter confirms that the voltage at the outlet is correct (110-120)

3. Certain appliances work when plugged into the outlet (lamps)

4. Certain appliances do not work when plugged in (just about everything else)

5. I replaced the outlet with a brand new one, but the behavior is the same.

6. There are GFI outlets on the same circuit, but they are not tripping.

Any idea what could be going on here?
