Black doors! Should I do it?!

I'm so scared I need the extra push!! Do I continue to paint my interior doors black through out?

Gets rid of the new home build look doesn't it?
My entrance, garage and backdoor are already painted black. There are just 4 more sets in the main floor to do.

    I think it looks good.

I really like the look, but have some hesitation since we are putting in new doors....

Ocotillaks, mine doesn't. They do require an small brush and deft hand to touch up if marred though.

Can't be any worse than all the dust that shows on my dark floors. Haha

Brenda Nash Hicks, do you have a bronze paint color to recommend for doors?

Is this going along with the copper that is trending now.....

Your floor is dark, you want to paint your door black? Keep your interior doors in white.

SW urbane bronze, softer than black

I say go for it! It's so edgy...something people like the look of but are afraid to do to their own house! I painted my small bathroom a navy blue; I had to screw up my courage but the end result is people truly admiring the room.

HI -- It doesn't hurt to try ... it;s only paint . But just do the room doors and not the smaller doors for storage such as linen or utility ... they can be the same color as the walls so they are not a feature . Right now those doubles doors is just too much white and painting them black will add a new updated look.

    Oh yes! Go for it.

Wall colour is changing this weekend. Lighter, BM collingwood.

Floors are also changing. Here's my colour board for the home

Black/dark will either be BM black Jack or Iron Mountain. Haven't decided.

Go for it it is only paint if you hate it change it I have dark gray doors I love them

beautiful, iron mountain is a great color

I did it. We're replacing our doors anyhow so I thought why not try it. Love it! We used a BM paint, can't recall the name off the top of my head but believe it had the word "Jet" in it.
Oh and our doors do not show any dust, fingerprints, dog hair, etc. We had wallpaper removed from our foyer this week (so very, very dusty) and while our dark hardwood floors show lots of dust, our doors do not.

Does anyone find Iron Mountain has too much brown in it?

Another problem I just realized is the doors are lacquered. I was thinking the project is over. Cause I'm not doing all that sanding priming and painting on them. However was just at Sherwin Williams and the suggested their new pain called SnapDry for doors and trim. Will paint right over the lacquer with no problems, sanding or priming.

Op what are the names of the other two paint colors in your palate? The light blue and tan? They are nice and serene

Also is that wood or tile on your wall?

The lighter colours are BM Collingwood and Sherwin Williams Copen blue. The wood wall is real wood. Here's a closer pic.

Should you paint your doors black? I vote "no". The reason - if you have to ask permission, then I believe your heart is unsure. When you know for sure, I doubt if you will ask. Whatever your choice will be fine.

Leave the woodwork white if you do paint them.

If you scroll up you will see in my previous post that the floors are being replaced next month. We are going lighter.

Why not? Just do it! Worst comes to worse you can always just paint over it. I think it'll look great in your home!

I agree...just go for it. I think it will look great

Interesting! I hadn't thought of painting interior doors dark before. But with your new lighter floors, I think it might look incredible :)
