Painting cabinets is not an easy job so if you pick a color you have to love it.
I would say get the cheapest fabric that matches the gray and blue you like.
Then figure out a way to wrap the bottom of your island.
Live with it for 3 days for each color and see what you like.
FYI I love your kitchen the way it is.
Maybe stools in the color you like, different light fixtures?

The pic above is beautiful. You could also go with your suggestion of blueish grey. Would look great with the floors and add a bit of drama. Depends on the color of your living room furniture and the look you are going for.

Stick to all white. Timeless look. Add original artwork. Use the colors in the art to add accent pieces. Barstools too.

Select a saturated color from your artwork to use for your accessories and carry a small amount of that color into your living area as well. Also, you may want to consider large scale accessories for your island.

Get some deep gray fabric or leather upholstered stools, Add a patterned gray rug under the dining table, and leave VERY well enough alone: )

Why in the world would you want to paint that beautiful classic island gray??? Don't even think about it! Get your color fix somewhere else, & forget about gray.

Consider adding gray bar stools and gray art to tie it together. Add a bowl on the table.

Maybe it's an optical illusion but is your island counter sagging in the middle? If so, that needs to be addressed.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! think I am now leaning toward leaving it alone for now and trying to add some gray through some bar stools.

Yes, I would have to agree. Your kitchen is classic. If u want color get kitchen towels and kitchen items with color. Than u can change anytime u feel like it.

I am planning right now for a major main floor reno to include all new flooring throughout, tearing down walls, reconstruction of my kitchen and switching my wood fireplace to gas. Scared. As far as your white kitchen, Naila, that's what I'm leaning towards. I keep switching to a very light taupe with white counter to all white shaker. What I am thinking of doing to add colour and warmth is get wood stools and add splashes of wood tones somehow. The floor will be a woodsy colour (not dark or too light).

I agree with many of the comments, you can simply add colour accessories. It's actually nice to have white as a blank canvas to add colour. If you paint the island a colour, then you only have it to work with. Just a thought. Not the end of the world if you chose a favourite colour you probably wouldn't get tired of it.
