First should be the cabinets, and then the walls.

Walls last and even choosing the color for the walls should be after the cabinets are painted

CEILING!!! Then walls, trim, then cabinets. Why on earth would you want to have to "plastic wrap" your freshly painted cabinetry? No builder/remodel pro on earth would do that. Test your paint colors !!! and do it logically. Remove all doors and hardware, all drawer faces, get the ceiling done, the walls, and trim, then cabinet frames. Prep thoroughly and properly for cabinets.....and ideally all but cabinet frames/boxes should be SPRAYED off site. Doors and drawer faces are ninety nine percent of the "result"........hence the spray. When all above it done, attach doors and drawer faces and hardware.

If you built a house, your cabinets/cabinet stain and color would be chosen, all ceiling painted, all walls painted, and then......cabinetry installed. In fact, painting a kitchen when the cabinets are remaining same?....a pain in the neck for just this reason!!!
