Can you take a photo closer of the granite as well?

Are you thinking simple and sleek or do you want to add a little character as I see the farm looking table?

I'd say subway all the way. It's classic and timeless.

I think a white or light grey subway or herringbone tile would look great and not compete with your beautiful but busy counter top!

I'd look for a light gray or stay pure white in a chevron, herringbone or subway.... however, I'd do prefer subway in longer pieces vs. 3x6... something more like a 4x12 given the size of the kitchen. As mentioned above, the simplicity of subway is timeless.

Herringbone has also been around for ages... I find chevron which is not too terribly different from Herringbone equally pretty.

Herringbone is an eye catcher. The simplicity of the pattern allows to put an accent to the material and the zigzag angles on the kitchen wall immediately become a focal point. Herringbone tile pattern has been in use for hundreds of years because of its elegant and intriguing look. Chevron is not too different.

I'd do one of the the three mentioned in the kitchen.

The only thing I can mention is you need to have a good tile person who feels comfortable with Herringbone or Chevron so it's done to perfection.

are you leaning toward white or do you want a gray tone?

they have a decent sample program it's very reasonable and fast.

Subway tiles are always timeless. If you want to go with something that will never go away, then white subway would probably be the best decision.
