Is it possible to take down a wall and what is your budget?

I saw your sleek doors and drawer fronts and thought of this green galley kitchen on Houzz. Can you close doors on the two side walls and just continue cabinetry to the slider end of the room? Close the end wall leaving just enough space in the middle for your French doors to be centered at the opposite end of the galley. try adding a banquette and a table that raises and lowers for the kids to work at.

Sorry - that David Howell was not what I intended to load - here is the correct galley.

There is a fireplace behind the wall oven and fridge. The sunroom is behind the sink wall. which was added after home built - is a support wall. Room is 16' x 9', think we are stuck with this size. Is there a better location for fridge? Budget - $30,000

Hate to loose a door - but may have to close one off. Really need more counter space.

And what are the sizes of your kitchen walls? A floorplan (doesn't have to be to scale would be handy).

Are we looking for new cabinets and all that? Or are we trying to adapt the existing layout? Did you put the cabinet in front of the doors to get extra workspace?

And as Dytecture asked, is taking walls down a consideration?

I would take the tall cabinet left of the oven and extend the counters there. Put a pretty backsplash. Additionally add a couple of glass door cabinets and you're done. I like the cabinets based on the photos, just need some bright backsplash to make it look pretty.

Definitely new cabinets,counter and tile floor. We spill too much to have a wood floor! Rolling cabinet added to store all my baking stuff. Sink wall is 9'-then door-then short 3 1/2' wall. Stove top wall is 10' then pocket door - then short 3' wall.

GREAT SPACE TO WORK WITH- LOT OF POTENTIAL. I WOULD CONSIDER MOVING THE PANTRY CLOSER TO A HALL BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE IT BLOCKS ALL THE SUN THAT COMES IN AND THE COOKING AREA ( STOVE ) IS SHADED. ALSO, SOME EXTRA COUNTER SPACE WOULD BE NEEDED TO MOVE THE MIXER AND TOASTER ...HOW ABOUT REMOVING THE SOFFIT AND INSTALLING A FULL HEIGHT WALL CABINET FOR ALL THE EXTRA APPLIANCES?

You could for example:
- put the fridge on the opposite wall in the corner
- where the fridge is a narrow but tall pull-out pantry cabinet
- next to that a tall cabinet with oven/microwave
- a range (you'll have two ovens then, since you like to bake)
- opposite range the sink
- next to the sink a dishwasher
- upper cabinets up to the ceiling for extra storage
- some of those cabinets with glass doors
- lights in the glass door wall cabinets
- under cabinet lighting
- have all lower cabinets with drawers in stead of shelves. Very practical for storage!

Here's a design for your space. It has more counter space, due in part to removing the oven cabinet and changing to a range. In addition, there is a spice drawer in the baking area, a narrow cabinet for cookie sheets etc., and a full-height storage cabinet near the new French door.

Great design sstar. I like the layout. Would prefer drawers in stead of doors for the bottom cabinets myself, more practical.
Hopefully jackiebr can say goodbye to one of the doors and thus create more counter space.

Maybe someone already mention: to get rid of the wall oven and go with a slide in stove, you will gain more counter!

I wonder what's on the other side of the wall. Might you be able to break through for a more open plan kitchen? Would leave lots of options for added counter space and storage. Check out this project in a 700 sf city apartment.
