Brick walkways!

It's quite nice as it is.

I would suggest lightening the brick and the shutters as well as changing the columns to a warm natural wood color.

Boy that low pitch roof really limits anything you can do to create more interest at the roofline.

Maybe clerestory windows down the spine of the house.

Nice as is.

The only change I would make is IF that entry door is the kind with only a single side lite, I would get rid of the side lite, center the door in the opening and beef up the casing around the door. (Beefier casing to cover the voids created from eliminating the side lite.). Better still would be a door w/ side lites on both sides but you probably don't have room on the interior & going that direction means that you'd have to deal with the brick and door header. (There might be another light hiding behind the porch column--can't be sure from looking at the pix.)

I would not like losing the natural light source but those single side lites just bug the heck out of me. Entry door w/ lites? Solatube? But I wouldn't like seeing it on the roof? Skylights have a bad rep for being a source of leaks & other problems.

Another thought--Maybe slightly beefier porch columns?

There is no need to "Joannaize" the house by painting the brick and changing the shutters. If the white on your trim is to stark to you, some paint, picking a color that works with the brick, would change the look. Also you could paint the shutters a different color.

Although your porch isn't high enough to require a railing you could install one to create more of a sense of an outdoor space on the front porch.
