Hi All-

I wanted to provide a follow up post. I received so much great feedback and help after several years of trying to create my new kitchen and we finally did it! We are moving back into the house and I’m so excited.

Wanted to share photos with all of you so hopefully I inspire others to renovate as well :)

Looks amazing! I’m so glad you came back to share your ‘after’. You must be so pleased - and excited to start using it!

PS what are you counters? They’re lovely

They’re quartzite! I spent many days searching stone yards. I didn’t love the look of quartz and I’ve got 2 small kids so marble was out. love how they turned out. Thanks for the nice comment!

Excited to see this as our lake home has a tongue and groove wood ceiling which I want to keep, and your floor and cabinet colors are similar to what I was envisioning. Enjoy your new space!

Drop dead gorgeous! Hard to pick a favorite thing. That quartzite is stunning and the way you lightened the kitchen reall makes the magnificent wooden ceiling stand out.

Stunning. So nice to see a kitchen that isn't cookie cutter, mixes textures and materials, love the spot lights on the wall, the backsplash, and you managed in a cavernous space to not have cabinets floating randomly on walls. It all fits together so well. Kudos.

Really beautiful and very functional kitchen. Enjoy! What are your floors. They look like mine which I have through the rest of my house and great room and which I m going to have to continue through my kitchen area, but they show every scratch, speck of dust, hair. paw print, foot print , water droplet. They drive me nuts. How do you Like them and do have any tips for coping with them.

Nice job. Which fridge is that? Under cabinet lighting and hood light? Those spaces looked dark in your photos.

STUNNING!!! Can you share the name of that beautiful backsplash? Also wall color? Congrats on getting to the other side!

Thank you! It’s Cle tile white zellige subway tiles. I absolutely love the texture it adds to the space. The Wall color is Mediterranean white by restoration hardware. Random, I know. but I’ve loved it for years and get it color matched now at our local paint store. Nice creamy white.

The runner was actsully a find in Morocco a few years ago. I’ve seen lots of similar options on eBay.

The fridge /freezer is the Electrolux 64” combo with a trim kit. way nicer on the wallet than the built in higher end companies. I splurged on the thermador cooktop though!

This looks great! Your counters are exactly what I'd like to find. Quick question - what brand is your double oven? We are planning to purchase either the same fridge/freezer that you have or the Frigidaire Professional version. Because the finish is "smudge proof" the appliance store recommended we stick with the same brand for our ovens (I would prefer not to do this). Yours looks great - just wondering what you have... thanks!

I got a kitchenaid double oven. I previously had kitchenaid ovens that lasted for nearly 15 years in the house and liked it. I’m not of the mindset that all the appliances need to be the same brand at all... just same color which I did with all SS. Good luck!

Your kitchen looks beautiful! I’ve been following a lot of Emily Henderson’s work and am also considering using those Cle Tiles. Any tricks with the installation? I’m a little concerned with everything coming out ok with all the unevenness. What color did you paint your perimeter cabinets? EH used F&B Strong White in her kitchen which is really a light grey, so I’m wondering which BM white would work best. Great job!
    spotydoty thanked Ephma

Thanks! Perimeter is Dove White BM and island is Soot.

Love the Cle tile but prepare to order an extra 20-30% if you want a more even background. I like the variety and unevenness. Really sparkles and gives it character but it’s definitely a specific look.

@spotydoty Thanks for the quick response! I had just decided last night to go with White Dove so it’s a sign. :) Happy to see the Cle tile in a “real life” installation and thanks for the tip.

Also, helpful note I almost forgot- I did end up finding identical tiles to the Zellige white subway from Zia tile based out of LA. They were cheaper than Cle but identical. I found them after it was too late to order the kitchen backsplash but I ended up ordering zellige tiles with them for a different area. Check them out and see who prices better for your location including shipping!
