43 degrees and raining, raining raining.

Pouring here since last night, too. Forecast said it will keep up through tomorrow, but right now it looks to be easing somewhat.

Sun shining now, but cold (41 earlier) and more rain coming later.

Raining again 39 here, everything is water logged.

Light rain here for days. Some standing water in the front yard. Saturday, I pulled my car out of garage to pot up my tomato plants inside. 48F and rain not good for outside potting. This is the first time (in 44 years) I have ever had to do this. Not too happy, but try to convince myself it's better than long term drought.

According to Sunday's paper, we're in an "el nino" weather pattern, which is expected to continue through the fall. So, the rain is not going to stop for those who of us who get their summer weather from the southwest. The last time we had a really bad "el nino", I lost all my hybrid iris, the majority of my cemetery iris and my rosemary - and I don't live in a low-lying area.

Sorry for the bad news, but better to prepare than not.

Not only is it the equivalent of 40 degrees outside, OUR HEAT IS NOT WORKING. They tell me it's a "burner which is not working, and they're working on it". This in a boiler room that was supposedly completely replaced with brand new equipment just last year. I smell some graft and fraud. It's freezing in my home.

Cooler than normal temps are part of it, too.If I remember correctly, we didn't hit 100 all summer and this is Texas!

Not hitting 100 degrees (or anywhere near that) would be excellent! On the other hand, in the past 3 months we have dealt with flooded finished basement -- twice! (First was septic related, horrific; second caused by excessive rain and high water table)

I have definitely gone off more rain, but still it comes. And it has been in the 40s here all week. Need some warming comfort food for supper tonight!

LOL mae! Is it working? Hmmm I did feel a little better after I ate some of my DD's chocolate Tim Bits. I should bake a cake or eat a chocolate bar or two! Dismal here too.

Peren.all, My plan is to eat chocolate on rainy days. This will lead to weight gain. The solution to my weight gain problem will be to exercise...in the form of gardening. In order to get in enough gardening to reduce my weight I will need to order more hostas to plant.

It is super hot here (80 *F) and the wildfires are all over the place in Central BC . We could use a couple days of rain as it is classed already at high and extreme here and have been watering steadily to keep things moist < Guess we are never happy lol

So cold and wet here, but very grateful that we aren’t facing the wildfires that you are in BC - so early for them to be starting...

Heat is back on, but porch is destroyed! A couple of steps were wobbly and loose, so we called the office to fix it. The guys they sent out to fix it seem to have been overenthusiastic with the use of the chisel or something; 25% of the porch is missing and the only access is to step on a limestone slab balanced on a couple of bricks. Yikes! Tomorrow seems like a great day to stay inside while they hopefully restore the porch. I called my friend Chris, who was supposed to come over and help me pot up hostas, and told him to wait another day. Too rainy and cold to dig anyway, according to the weatherfolks.

We also had a cold wet spring and with about an inch of wet snow this AM about 25% of hostas haven't emerged yet...maybe they won't as this was a banner winter for moles, voles and ice.
