The main floor of our center hall colonial has hard wood floors; open concept kitchen/dining/living room on one side, formal living room on the other. Both living areas have 9’x11” rugs in front of the couch. But in the morning and at night, no matter where you are in the house (basement, bedrooms) it’s like a heard of elephants are walking through. When anyone is eating or putting away dishes in the kitchen it’s also a racket. Particularly hard when we are all trapped together, all day. Would a rug in the kitchen and under the dining room table help? How do they not get disgustingly dirty? Suggestions welcome!!
