Did you choose the slabs in person and then have them leathered, or did you see/choose them already leathered?

I did not choose the actual slab. My fabricator has samples but the slabs came from another state.

I’m actually ok with the finish, I think the color looks good with my cabinets. It’s the blotches! It looks like someone poured grease on the countertops in that one area.

Do you notice any difference in the feel of the blotchy areas vs the rest? I’m talking, if someone blindfolded you, spun you around so you didn’t know where in the kitchen you were standing, and then placed your hand on the countertop and told you to “feel around for the splotches,” would you be able to find them?

I suspect if you oil the entire surface the splotches will no longer be visible. And that would be a very easy remedy, if successful.

They are coming out next week so hopefully so! I’m going to let them handle it.

It's natural stone. There is nothing wrong with it. There isn't going to be any fixing.
