Photocopy the stone and use a wallpaper outlet. But, do NOT do quartz behind your cooking zone. It will suffer heat damage without your range having the required backguard. Quartz is not a non combustible surface.

A power strip below the cabinets eliminates the outlet and gives you more outlets.

Too late for a power strip. @User I've heard this before but the fabricator swear it's OK and we're going for it. Is there some kind of sealer that could help?

@Debbi Washburn I saw this too! Thanks for researching. Their product looks somewhat in complicated to install. The faux painting I could do. Wondering if the regular flush outlets work the same.

E quartz is mainly resin (yes it’s mainly stone by weight). Resin burns when exposed to heat. If you have a high heat output stove it will damage the backsplash. Yes you see it in model homes and magazine shoots everywhere.

What if it’s an induction cooktop?

That outlet cover was created with a water jet. Very expensive.

tamiort- No sealant for quartz is going to provide any protection from heat, in the same way that paint doesn't provide any protection from your house burning down

with induction you might be OK.

Trufig very complicated and expensive to install. If you just need one, it might be OK. But not if you want to hide a roomful of outlets and switches.

I would never install a receptacle so close to a stove burner that it might burn - what about the cord plugged into that outlet?

Mtvhike they aren’t installing an outlet next to a stove burner. The person who commented about not putting quartz behind the stove was just giving a warning because the poster was trying to match an outlet cover to their quartz backsplash so the person figured the quartz would also be installed behind the stove

I have manufactured quartz behind my gas cooktop. No issues with burning or any damage in the 5 years I’ve had it.

@rtschlenk THere are usually no issues with a cooktop. It is the full range that is a problem because of the air vent at the back of the unit.

It can happen with tile as well.
