I'm trying to grow strawberries in rain gutters and all was well until this week. One plant started getting brown spots and others started getting what looks like being chewed on. I sprayed with a 3 in 1 Neem product but things appear to be getting worse. I was hoping the gutter (about 3.5 feet above the ground) would keep soil borne diseases at bay plus ease my back from bending over so much.

I've got the watering/drainage down pat with a soaker hose where the soil stays damp, not soggy and doesn't dry out.

What about the dark edges on the new growth?

The cultivars I'm growing are Ozark Beauties and Quinalts.

Any ideas on the culprit(s) and remedies?
