Paint color with Eternal Marfil?

last modified: 5 years ago

Hi, my bathroom counter tops will be Silestone Eternal Marfil. The vanity cabinets will be cherry. Does anyone have a suggestion as to paint color? The bathrooms are tiny, so I don’t think dark colors will be good. Plus, I’m in Hawaii and decor tends to be lighter… more airy. I’d appreappreciate any suggestions. TIA

Why cherry cabinets if you like airy?

I had Crema Marfil marble in our master many years ago and I selected SW Moderne White. I loved it. The quartz you have appears to have more color in it. So you might also consider SW Eider White.

I had Crema Marfil in a previous bathroom with dark cabinets and I loved it. I chose Silastone Eternal Marfil for my new build bathrooms to be installed on top of dark, espresso cabinets. Both bathrooms had a lot of external light. I think it'll bring out the dark veining. We didn't get a choice of colors for this new home which is SW Kilim Beige. I think that'll be too dark. Maybe SW Softer Tan (used that in a previous house but not with crema marfil or eternal marfil). Are you looking for white airy or tan airy?

    White...lovely combo:

Jen K, I really prefer lighter colors. The house is very small so dark colors makes me feel claustrophobic. Plus, I’m in Hawaii so we usually prefer kight and airy. The cabinets are cherry. Thanks for your help.

Judianna, I appreciate you saying white is good. i was thinking white sink wouldn’t look good with the creamy-colored Eternal Marfil. So I was just about to special order toilets and sinks in Kohler Dune, which is white, but with grey undertones. They’re a lot more expensive and harder to get in that color. It picks up the grey in the Eternal Marfil. But now I’m going to rethink white white…

Patricia Colwell Consulting, thats a good question, LOL! I renovated my kitchen 2 years ago and did not want white or grey cabinets like every remodel in my town. (I’m a realtor so I see lots of homes). It started with a copper sink (from Rachiel) and Eternal Marfil looked good with that, then cherry cabinets looked good with that. I have whitish floors and vaulted ceilings, and white plantation shutters, so it works. Because the house is small I wanted the same cabinets and countertops in the bathrooms.

After much deliberation and many paint samples, i decided on Benjamin Moore White Dove. It’s perfect!

@popoki47 here's our Silestone Eternal Marfel with Kilim Beige. I love the depth and feel. I'm glad you found a color - love to see a picture.

This is my downstairs bath. Cherry cabinets, Eternal Marfil countertop and BJ White Dove. the sink and toilet are Kohler Dune, which turned out to work really well. This also is artifical light.

Love it! The White Dove highlights the Eternal Marfil - sets it apart so you can see each on their own. Bottom line - the Eternal Marfil is gorgeous. I had Crema Marfil marble in a previous home and loved it. When preparing for the design center, I couldn't leave it behind and nothing else caught my eye. I went with it again in this house, but in Silestone while is easier to care for around sinks and soap.
