This layout should work for the old dining room.

While Beverly's layout looks good, isn't that baseboard heating under the window where she has the sofa? You would need to not have the sofa up against the wall if that is true.

That is old baseboard heating!! We have a gas furnace now so those are just old and need to come out. I LOVE this design Beverly - however, I would like to keep our original sectional if we can - it is a left chaise sectional. Any thoughts??

Show us the living room space

here it is!

Move all the furniture out and play with the sectional. It is the hair in the ointment, so work that out with furniture sliders and some muscle. The rest will fall into place afterward. I can see TV where the mirror is, but you'll have to try it out. Can sofa separate into two parts if necessary?

How is this any better than what you have in the living room?

Keep the dining room as is. That is where you require the room. That room needs so major help with furnishings and accessories.

You need to finish your existing room

Pull the chair out from the corner. That is such an awkward angle you have it place.

Add a drum table along side the chair

Add a rug in gold and gray

Add drapery panels
