need help with seating for master bedroom

last year

We just renovated, and have a lot of space in the master bedroom. Trying to figure out the best layout for seating options. We don’t have a TV in there, and still need to finalize what window coverings were going to use, but definitely need some guidance.

There is 9 feet from the end of the bed until the opposite wall, and 12 feet from There is a walkout sliding door to a small balcony that I rather not block if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

the door frame to the corner of the room.

Who will sit in this room, how many people, or is it going to be more of a throw stuff on kind of chair? How about a chaise type bench on the wall directly across from the end of the bed?

I realize the formatting went a bit wonky in my original post. To be clear, the wall opposite the bed is 12 feet wide.

Perpendicular to that wall is the window wall with two smaller windows, and a walkout sliding door.

Just thinking of summer to get away from the kids to relax.

Maybe a rug? A table as well?

So you are looking for more of a table and chair area, like a desk where you would sit?

No desk, just some type of seating area, and maybe a table for a magazine or something. Just wanna make the room, look a little bit more full, and have somewhere to chill out as well. Either a sofa, or some wing chairs.

Wondering if I need a floor rug as well, what directions the chairs or couch should face and things like that.

Who sells a bed designed to hold two queen-size mattresses? I think that is brilliant!

I'd add a rug, and a chest to hold the TV and use the space as my workout area. What a luxury to have that amount of space!!

The bed itself is kind of distracting with its different bed coverings and pillows. Would it benefit from more consistent colors. Also, do you need nightstands other than what you seemingly have now? With a 9'-0" clearance between the bed and wall you should be able to install a couple of comfy chairs with a table between.

Perhaps the person who made the base for your bed can make a simple matching headboard, it would give the bed a more finished look.

Here is a visual showing a few ideas...

It looks like adding a rug to your space might help ground it more. If you're looking for seating options you could easily do a bench at the end of the bed, a chaise, or look at adding two arm chairs to the wall. You could even fit a small loveseat on the wall if needed as well. Below are some ideas for you from various designs of ours:
