The last photo is something similar to our current but it’s laminate. Will that work? Because of the black markings it may blend ok?

Your hardwood flooring professional will know where to source a product that looks similar, or even the original product. Work with them.

You have Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba). It is still readily available to order in 3-1/4" and 5". I would use a professional wood floor installer to source and install matching flooring to ensure consistency and quality. Sticking with real wood is essential to maintaining the aesthetic and value of your space.

I would try to find a cherry wood to match... But... if money is an issue ( and I know you just bought this lovely home_. You could do the last one, the laminate. Especially if it is in a discrete master bedroom area. Later you can add real brazilian cherry wood to this room when the budget allows.

I hate to say it but IMO either spring for matching floor or a nice good quality carpet .

Keep the carpeting until you can afford to match the real wood. Laminate will look cheap next to actual wood.

Thanks for your thoughts! We found laminate that looks very similar but it’s textured so it will be different. Would you suggest replace the entire carpet? Or keep the one that’s there and get a rug?

Also, If the laminate goes in the bedroom, the tile by the door - does it remain or should we get rid of it too?
