Does the stone come in individual pieces or prearranged panels?

Did you have to cut any of the stone to create an edge around the fireplace?

The stone, El Dorado Nantucket comes in small sections of two or three pieces but I would not call them panels as they are not that large. And yes there was some cutting involved at the walls in order to make them fit. Our people installed it and it is not really hard to do although there are a few tricks to make it look good as with any product.

Thank you so much for your response. We have a contractor doing our install as well. What I am trying to determine is whether you needed to cut to create a clean edge for the fireplace opening or if the sections come with 2 or 3 stones stacked flush so no cutting would be required.

We use a factory edge whenever possible but yes they did have to cut around the box opening. If you look close you can see that they did a concrete type "pardge" on top of the faux stone as well as the old brick below the faux stone to get it to blend out. If you are going to use a glass door however that would cover over the face of the box opening so it would not be as big an issue.

Going to have a gas fireplace and I am trying to avoid having to cut the stones as they look very fake when cut. We have a sample now and the cross section isn't pretty. I wasn't planning on ordering corners for the fireplace opening but maybe I should do that.
