i agree about the door, we just havent gotten that far yet, backsplash is next and dont know color or ? I am terrible at this

You just need to warm it up. It will help if you choose a natural marble -- for the backsplash. Stay away from shiny surfaces. No glass, smooth finishes. Color and accessories would help too, a warm friendly window treatment. Paint any warm shade-- although green is cool, go to the warmer side (more yellow). Or a warm bisque, etc.

This is why I'm not a huge fan of stainless appliances and glass back splashes that so many people are doing now. Little pops of it are fine but beware of too much. Ok-- done with my rant for now. ;)

I would probably put a neutral but warm toned tile as a backsplash in all areas but create an interesting pattern behind the range to create some interest. Your countertops could be a nice warm color like Cambria's Canterbury. If you combine those colors with the cabinets you have now and add a warm toned undercabinet LED strip light like Loox line by Hafele, your kitchen could certainly look much warmer.

You need to put someone on your counters, You need some placemats, and some stools. Also you could use that wall to the right as an accent wall and paint it a warm color. Also I do agree about using a warm colored backsplash. Glass would be to much, you must go with stone.

I agree with Andersonville Kitchen & Bath- Warm toned LED lights underneath your cabinets can really give you that inviting feel you are looking. They can accentuate a beautiful backsplash or help your kitchen stand out on its own!
