Are you talking about the wood doors in the pic. I guess if you were just getting a few pieces you could order them from California the wait would suck but I feel when doing a kitchen do it right. I have been designing Ikea kitchens for clients for 20 yrs. and I still love them but this is a nice addition to a usually very simple set of cabinets. Did you check out the Tingsryd new cabinets from the Metod new line from them . They would mix nicely with a really plain white kitchen .

She likes the slab walnut. They do have some beautiful doors and drawers.
Here is a UK company that offers aftermarket door for many cabinet brands, including iKea. But I don't know if they are as attractive...

Patricia - I haven't been back into Ikea since they changed to Metod, but will do and look at the range you suggest.

Marilyn - thanks for the link! You are right though, it doesn't quite have the contempory/stylish mix that semihandmade have. A gap in the market for someone I'm sure!!

By all means keep the thread alive! I'm also looking for a company that makes more interesting and better quality doors etc. for IKEA kitchens. I live in Belgium so it would have to be a company that delivers here. Does anyone have personal experience to share about this kind of service? There's indeed a gap in the market waiting for someone to fill it, it seems. Pickyliving.se looks great but given that their website is only in Swedish I fear that they only work with the Swedish market.
