Do you mean issues with them tearing it up?

Anything in general. From tearing it up (which is rare) to heat, scent, and maintenance. We have been installing for over 12 years and are trying to build a better connection to people and their questions and dilemmas.

Hi - we had 3 dogs and 5 years of synthetic grass at our previous home in Mead, CO and LOVED IT! The only challenge was getting hardened stool off the grass. In the west facing backyard, with somewhat liquid (but not liquid enough) feces, it would bake in. Daily power spraying would help, but who has the time or inclination to do that? The turf does get pretty warm. The dogs didn't seem to mind too much but at the peak of summer, with no trees (new development), you were not going to spend much time trotting about barefoot. Companies would do well to offer affordable maintainence packages which would include annual cleaning, sand addtion, seam/edge check and repair as necessary, and fluffing. That would be awesome!

We went with high quality SynBlue, I believe the name was, and it never discolored. Great stuff. Will use again (or similar) in our new (to us) home in Westminster. Be prepared, all the designers we consulted had a very hard time being creative with the turf. Despite our encouragement for something playful and exciting (e.g. hopscotch area or some neat pattern interspersed with flagstone) that one would never have the umph to upkeep if real grass, all we got back was mild variation on the same old kidney bean layout. Phooey.

Thanks for the feed back! We actually do a lot of design and installation in Denver. Check us out at www.greenswithenvy.net. One of the greatest things for us has been coming up with different ideas and creating usable space for our clients. From Rooftop living to functional backyards. We actually just finished a property in Westminster that incorporated synthetic grass, a large playscape and two mini golf greens for the whole family to enjoy. Love the way you think with finding interesting designs. Also, quick side note, the newer versions of turf have tried to adapt to the #2 issues by using varied grass lengths and widths. Great idea although still not perfect. Would love to check it out if you are still looking.
