You were just posting the pic as I was adding my comment. Is there another view to show other walls to be painted? Looks like one window in kitchen?

Room does not have much light and one window. All samples I brought home always look two shades darker in the room itself. Really liked Valspar Shoreline Haze that picks up the taupey quartz pieces in the granite but it is not so great with the floor. Maybe a lighter version of it would be better.

Really not a lot of wall space and only need paint above wainscot on two walls and on soffits above cabinets. These are old pics and need to get some new ones of the granite but looks awful as bs not up yet. Thanks!

Since colors look two shades darker, go with the lightest you can get. Then, if you want to darken up the paint store can add some of the appropriate pigment.

Floor color is making it difficult.

Sherman Williams Greek Villa is very light and bright.

Kelly Moore Star of the Garden KM4004-2 paired with floors of similar color to yours.

I would also move toward a green. Take a look at the color samples on the Restoration Hardware site, see if anything catches your eye there.

Those RH colors are beautiful. We don't have a store close and need to get the paint this week as painter ready to start.

Your kitchen is going to be beautiful! Please consider painting the panelling and trim off white (same as subway tiles) - it will freshen the space, make it larger and your table will look like a new piece of furniture against this new background. A nice fabric roman shade in the window will also update your kitchen. Good luck from Montreal!

These Sherwin Williams colors might give you a starting spot. Check these tones and lighter versions of them too.

You guys are all great! I am gettin psyched. Unfortunately, DH will not hear of painting his beloved oak wainscoat. I plan to get a new dining set eventually or at least chairs and thinking a painted black look?
Riese Design, I have signed out the BM paint deck on my lunch hour and that entire strip 239 on down to the Baffin Island looks great with the floor tile, granite sample and tile sample. I bought a sample of the Jonesboro Cream, two up from the Baffin to give a look see of how dark it is but I do love the Baffin. Can't wait to get home and see it in kitchen.

I painted a test board with the Jonesboro Cream that looks very pretty on the fan deck but in my kitchen it appears almost chartreuse and a weird limey cast so not the one.

May try the color above it, Delaware Putty and do you think it would still be green based but not as pronouced?

I am so bad at this and all suggestions appreciated.
Carrington Beige does not look too bad but kind of safe. They had the old small sample bottles on clearance for $1.00. Now have to pay $7 per sample and have them mixed.

I looked at the Benjamin moore website paint deck. Some of the suggestions were to play to the green in the granite. I think Frasier Fir 503 might work. It's not too green and not too dark. Definitely would work with the paneling. Let me know what you think

A little too bold I think but thank you. SW is having their 30% sale here and I picked up a sample of Rice Grain. Read lots of good things about it and not bad but have to see it at night in the room on the board I painted.

I paint lots of samples before finally deciding on a color - drives my husband crazy. Good luck and I'll be watching for the final pictures

Thanks! I also need a painter. First one and first choice has tendonitis, second one just painted this small computer room today and used the blue tape (bad sign) and some bad spots where paint ran behind it and places where tape was off. No way will I let him paint the kitchen.

And the winner is.... Sherwin Williams Rice Grain. What do you think? (BM Carrington Beige was a close second but the advice to use something with green tones which the Rice Grain has is right on).

Yes I did and painted a sample board and also one of the Carrington Beige. Learned along the way to do this and move the board around the room at different times of the day.

I chose the SW Rice Grain and very happy with it but it came out lighter than I expected. Looked great when cut in but again the finished paint was surprisingly lighter than I thought but the perfect undertone and perfect with the tile, granite and floor.

Thank you for the compliment. It was a job finding the right tile and I knew when I saw it my search was finally over. Yes it is beveled (also comes in 3 x 12 and can get flat fields or this beveled) and hard to see but color is shaded a bit darker out toward the edges. I found a sample board at a local tile shop here in PA and they ordered it from Jeffrey Court and is their Vintage Studio line. This color is Antique Lace, a cream color which shades out to a darker cream on the bevel. I tried to find an online source but seems only can be special ordered from a tile store. Was $19.99 sf but found it for $13.75 at a store in NJ and local store matched the priced.

Color was called "Ivory" but not sure of the brand. Tile store said it would look best to match the lightest color in the tile as close as possible and we purchasaed the higher priced grout that you don't have to seal seperately and has the sealant in it. Also bought matching Ivory caulk in a tube . I have the bag at home in my basement.

What are you using to finish the ends off with? We used the "ramp edge" and difficult for our tile guy but it turned out ok.

Here is how it was ended. A bit tricky with that ramp edge.

Also, if you did get the Antique Lace color, I searched high and low for matching outlet covers and the one in the pic is a stock 99 cent metal cover from Home Depot. Nice cream color with matte finish and blends nicer than it appears in the pic.

They fit nicely along the edge of a beveled full tile as it slants back a bit, but next to the tiles you will have to cut (every other row if doing a brick pattern) the edge is wider and harder to fill in with grout.

I would suggest painting the wainscotting. A charcoal grey (or the brown from the granite) then do the top in a warm neutral.

Using this same color backsplash. Were the outlet cover in the store or did you have to order? What color is your floor and where did you get it?

Yes, the outlet covers were in the electrical aisle at Home Depot and are the metal contractor grade with a nice finish. There are several colors and this cream was perfect and so inexpensive. Also another cream color but very yellow so I would buy one a few and bring home to try out.

The floor was so difficult. I wanted luxury vinyl tile and didn't like what I read about the Congoleum and Armstrong did not have the right tones and found this made by Shaw in a small local flooring shop. I was afraid it may clash but turned out perfect in color and pattern. Here is the link to the Shaw website and color is Sunlit Sand and sounds like it could read gold, but again very lucky it blends in so well with it's travertine like pattern.

When you picked the grout for your Antique Lace did you go with a grout lighter, darker or matching the tile?

Grout is a tad lighter. Tile store I think tried to match it but just looked closely and it is a little bit lighter. I still love it but have to say maybe should have chosen the flat, rather than beveled. Please post pics when yours is done!!

Thanks. I'm doing the flat Antique Lace 3x12. I have a small edge that needs the ramp or bullnose. Did you not like the ramp?

The ramp is fine, our guy just had a bit of a time setting it on end as I think because the tile was beveled so cut edges tricky on the raised bevel. I don't think they make bullnose for this and why the store suggested the ramp edge at the time and it does look good.

Your flat 3 x 12 will be sooooo nice! Please post pictures when finished please.
