  Free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW   This client wanted a complete update of their kitchen and came to us with several objectives. They wanted a larger island and easier access to the dining room. They also wanted to eliminate the existing cooktop location from the island and make the island larger. Because the existing space was not able to accommodate all those requests, we decided to eliminate the breakfast area and incorporate that space into the kitchen. By eliminating an existing bay window and making the kitchen sink window larger, we were able to make the new layout work without sacrificing any natural light. A French door to the newly added and adjoining sunroom and casual outdoor dining spot still allows for multiple dining options. And by enlarging the opening to the dining room, it allows for easier access to this space on a daily basis versus for special occasions only. The client already had a large desk in the kitchen and spends a lot of time at this area. We were able to make the new desk even larger by moving the refrigerator to another area. The refrigerator is covered in decorative panels so that it blends nicely into the furniture look of the room. The larger island can now seat several people comfortably. The room’s traditional feel was achieved by providing different finishes on the perimeter, island and desk cabinetry. Handmade gray backsplash tile, a combination of soapstone and Carrera marble give the space a classic appeal. Details provide interest – custom glass mullions, decorative wood hood and bronze hardware give the space character and charm. During the designing phase of the project, Richard envisioned a custom fridge wall unit that would house a panel ready fridge and a coffee and microwave cabinet. In doing so he took every detail into account to make it a highly functional and stunning piece.

We are so excited to share our most recent kitchen renovation with you, by one of our designers Vincent Guarino. The kitchen plans were designed with function and form in mind. The kitchen required different levels of architectural support throughout we carefully incorporated/hid posts and beams into the design aesthetic. You will notice one post between the pantry cabinet and refrigerator, an additional beam is hidden across the top behind the crown molding, and another support wall within the shallow depth pantry left of the refrigerator. Aesthetic details include painted maple Ultracraft cabinetry in Arctic White, the counters are a Q-Quartz in Calacatta Trevi, white subway tile, anchored by a gorgeous Herringbone wood floor. All appliances are the GE Café line in white with brass hardware. Additional features include entry-way cabinetry and bench complimented by a wood top, floating Poplar wood shelves in “Seagull”, a custom wood hood, floor to ceiling pantry carried through to the refrigerator, and the full design is finished with decorative paneling and crown molding.

Kitchen - transitional kitchen idea in Minneapolis

New custom cabinetry in an off-white finish offer storage galore. Hand made zellige tiles provide a pop of color in this otherwise neutral kitchen. New European range and hood provide a handsome focal point. Rectangle island with marble top is home to an undermount sink, dishwasher, trash bin, seating as well as extra storage. New panel-ready refrigerator and coffee station complete this classic look.

The kitchen was stuck in the 1980s with builder stock grade cabinets. It did not have enough space for two cooks to work together comfortably, or to entertain large groups of friends and family. The lighting and wall colors were also dated and made the small kitchen feel even smaller. By removing some walls between the kitchen and dining room, relocating a pantry closet,, and extending the kitchen footprint into a tiny home office on one end where the new spacious pantry and a built-in desk now reside, and about 4 feet into the family room to accommodate two beverage refrigerators and glass front cabinetry to be used as a bar serving space, the client now has the kitchen they have been dreaming about for years. A young family moving from NYC tackled a lightning fast makeover of their new colonial revival home before the arrival of their second child. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and new layout. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by grey glazed rift oak cabinetry on the island. Shiplap paneling on the island and cabinet lend a slightly contemporary edge. White bronze hardware by Schaub & Co. in a contemporary bar shape offer clean lines with some texture in a warm metallic tone. Inspiration for a huge transitional porcelain tile eat-in kitchen remodel in Los Angeles with a farmhouse sink, shaker cabinets, white cabinets, marble countertops, gray backsplash, subway tile backsplash and an island

This 1952 Huntington Woods bungalow once had a peninsula jutting into the space, cutting off the flow and making entertaining nearly impossible. The homeowners love to cook and gather with friends, so creating a space that felt connected and welcoming was key. By removing the peninsula and adding a run of shallow pantries opposite the cooktop, the new layout feels more open while also adding valuable storage. The countertop now wraps the corner into a built-in banquette where the couple can sit with guests just off the kitchen, keeping everyone part of the conversation. The cabinetry is designed for real, everyday cooking, with thoughtful details like angled utensil dividers, pegs for dishes and pans, a spice pullout, and tray dividers above the oven. Panel-ready appliances keep the space streamlined, allowing the materials to take center stage. The combination of moody blue base cabinets, white oak uppers, and brushed pewters hardware gives the kitchen a grounded, confident feel that fits the home’s character and the way the couple loves to live.
