Homeowners were building a new home and guesthouse in a horse ranch community in St. Johns, Florida. They asked us to design a "ridiculous" pool to include boulder grottos and jumping platforms, a long, fast and twisting slide, a tree to swing into the water from, a kids fort with a suspension bridge, a wading/sunning shallow portion of the pool. They also wanted the property to include a chicken coop and garden area, a proper space for solar panels, a large driveway area for maneuvering and storing a boat.

Pool - contemporary pool idea in Portland

This beautiful geometric project designed by Mike Farley has a lot of elevation changes with a stunning view of the golfcourse. The flush spa was kept near the house for easy access and blended with the contemporary style of the home. Both the outdoor kitchen and fire pit area are used as retaining walls with the elevation change. It also gives lots of seating along with the bar stools - inside and outside the pool. The water feature is a sheer rain fall that is kept low so that the golf course view isn't blocked. There is a nice sized tanning ledge to hang out on. The outdoor kitchen has a grill, trash can, drop in cooler and lots of seating. The cabana has cam lights for evening fun. We used ceramic on the patio that looks like wood and has greys and browns in it. The concrete is grey with a heavy texture. The channels have Mexican Pebble to blend with the grey tones.

Both the pool and the hot tub are outfitted with automatic pool safety covers with custom stone lid systems. Both the pool and hot tub coping are Valders Wisconsin Limestone. The Pool decking is Unilock Richfliff XL in Dawn Mist color. The pool and hot tub finish is Ceramaquartz. The pool also features a deck mounted Basketball game. This Doylestown, PA pool has a unique Tiki Bar. In addition it has all the water features an in ground pool can have, a huge paver patio pool deck, a fire feature, and to top it all off a low voltage lighting system that really brings the party to life at night. Lets not forget the pool house, and matching paver stone driveway entrance. This outdoor living space has it all and then some. A very impressive space. The water features include a raised heated spa, a large sun-shelf, a cozy corner, a boulder waterfall, water jet streams, and colored led night lights. The fire feature includes a natural boulder fire pit which is both elemental and essential to make this space a well rounded outdoor experience. A unique feature is the Tiki bar hut which just makes such a cool element for entertaining guests during parties. Lastly, a convenient pool house makes this place stand out as an awesome pool project.

ILLUNINATED NIGHTLIFE With illumination from pool lights to fire pots, enjoyment of this exterior does not have to end when the sun goes down. An exterior lighting plan will keep the fun going well into the night. Under the water glow also highlights the pool’s custom hand cut tile medallion, artfully installed on the floor of the pool.
