Home of an inveterate collector with a keen eye, the hallmarks of this renovated, 1927 Beaux Arts residence are neutral walls and fabrics that celebrate the treasured artwork, rugs, and architecture within. Eclectic objects and furnishings discovered on world travels, antiquing expeditions, and even those inherited mingle easily in relaxed, strategically un-designed fashion. Intentionally void of superfluous decoration to accept flexible furniture arrangements, the mood of this home can swing in an instant simply by rearranging a chair, or swapping pillows - proving the most personal spaces are also the most versatile.

Often asked to design a landscape to complement a Tuscan/Mediterranean style home. Outdoor rooms include patios, lanais and courtyards. Inspiration comes from travels throughout Italy, especially Tuscany: Lucca, Pisa, Florence & Cinque Terre. Many plants are similar to plants available in Flordia, and if they don't grow here, we can always find an acceptable substitution that completes the look. This family wanted to improve their curb appeal, especially as they also run a home-based business that welcomes clients. A minimalist planting and aesthetic was requested with a palette as closely resembling the modernist gardens of Palm Springs as possible here in the Pacific Northwest. Challenge accepted! A front path of block pavers was laid in a geometric pattern for high functionality while also feeling fresh and young. Lots of structural plant choices in blues and light greens align with the requested plant style while also providing a deer proof and drought tolerant planting.

Challenge: Make a tilted, trapezoidal backyard work Solved: No easy challenge, this property perches atop an 18-foot (yes foot) retaining wall with a grade falling away at 18” of slope per 12’. The tilted landscape seemed hell-bent on flooding the back yard. So… engineering challenge accepted! From the iridescent glass tile and volcanic basalt stone verticals of the spa, negative edge wall, and coping—to the smart-phone-controlled LED lighting and bespoke, California-crafted fire pit—we think we met the challenge! Beautifully, in fact. What a magical setting this family now enjoys.

Our recent customer in Frisco came to us with a challenge and we definitely accepted! We designed and helped turn their plain backyard into an outdoor living and entertainment dream. To begin, we had to remove the middle pillar on the existing patio cover and installed a new beam to support the roof line. We poured the concrete to build the basketball court, installed the basketball goal, and added finishing touches like black Tejas Rock along the back of the property line. We continued by installing synthetic turf throughout the backyard. We also designed and installed the Putting Green. To add to this entertainment oasis, we built a Pergola and privacy wall for the hot tub area and created a decomposed granite walkway to the front driveway.
