This is an example of a southwestern landscaping in Phoenix.

This Northern Colorado home was elevated with the addition of a small water feature within the front courtyard and additional entertaining space in the back, including a fire pit and additional patio space. Handmade concrete walls lay the foundation for the seating surrounding the fire pit which is encased with a steel box to add to the modern feel.

The key was for the design not to compete with either. Strokes of three types of grass and textural interest and privacy while not distracting you from the main focus of the garden: the view!

Hydroseeding the hillside with a woodland Shade Seed blend was applied to a rocky slope along the tree line of the existing woodland to stabilize and restore vegetation of the hillside after construction. The old existing retaining wall received an additional wall for added height and scale and function.
