Example of a farmhouse formal and open concept living room design in San Francisco with beige walls and a standard fireplace

Design by Joanna Hartman Photography by Ryann Ford Styling by Adam Fortner The kitchen features 3cm Bianco Carrara Marble counters, hardware salvaged from original kitchen, a mixture of new and old oak flooring, Rittenhouse 3x6 white gloss tile for the backsplash, Benjamin Moore "Simply White" paint on the ceiling, "Revere Pewter" on the walls by the same, and a clear Shades of Light Teardrop Seeded Pendant above the island.

Greg Hadley Photography The clients opted to use Ikea glossy white cabinets. Our crew assembled and installed the cabinetry on site. To provide an organic accent, we included walnut doors and open shelves. These pieces were purchased from a company that builds real wood veneer doors that fit over Ikea cabinet boxes. The island is sized to fit the space and provide adequate clearances around it for good traffic flow. The client requested the waterfall feature. The stone tops in the kitchen are Calacatta. Brass lamps above the sink (the original trim around the window was narrower, but once the client found these fixtures, we widened the trim to accommodate the lights.) Glass globe pendants. Brass lamp over built-in table. Glazed white brick subway backsplash tile. Black painted Pella window and door.

It was in excellent condition and merely needed a good cleaning. The addition of white calacatta marble, white subway tile, walnut wood counters, brass and gold accents keep the charm intact. Cabinet panels mimic original door panels found in other areas of the home. Custom coffee storage is a modern bonus! Sub-Zero Refrig, Rohl sink, seeded glass cabinets, brass wire grille,
