This 5BD / 3BA home was purchased by our client in an auction, after a year of being unoccupied. This 1st Phase scope included updating 3 bathrooms, interior & exterior paint, a complete lighting plan, converting their wood-burning fireplace to an electric fireplace; adding LED-lit wood paneling to the fireplace wall, and curating, procuring and placing furnishings, linens, and some decor pieces throughout the home. After the dining room chandelier is installed, we will have our professional “after” photo session. The Client’s design vision is “Pacific Northwest Vibe” for this personal chef concept Airbnb. The 2nd Phase will include updating the flooring and kitchen.

This French Country–inspired kitchen was designed to complement the romantic character of a Tudor Revival cottage near Missionary Ridge. Blending historic charm with modern function, the space feels both curated and timeless.
At its center, a dark-stained maple island anchors the room with depth and elegance. A striking black Ilve professional gas range brings a touch of classic European craftsmanship, paired beautifully with Shadow Storm quartzite countertops and a French casement push-out window that invites in natural light.
A pair of French doors salvaged from Normandy, collected at auction, serve as a key architectural element. The home’s antique windows were reglazed and updated with new hardware, preserving their vintage character. Original wood floors were restored, and a walk-in hidden pantry was seamlessly integrated for added function without disrupting the historical feel.
The result is a richly layered, functional kitchen that brings together old-world elegance and modern craftsmanship in perfect harmony.

Originally the owner had tried various tones of grey on the wall before calling us in for help. One of her favorite hotel rooms in her business travel had been painted grey. However, this room faced only north light, never got sun, and I assured her that she would be taking massive doses of antidepressant in no time. We had to create some joy in the room not provided by sunlight. In the floor plan, our concept included a wall unit to house a tv as well as extra drawers for clothing. This antique French armoire was found at an auction; it came apart into about 20 pieces, and so was easily carried up her narrow stairwell to reconfigure in her bedroom. We custom painted it in an ivory tone. The windows faced onto a school yard, and needed to be able to completely extend for privacy. Drapery would have been too heavy for this small townhouse bedroom. The matelasse cover on the bed is an ivory tone and texture similar to the armoire.

In this project, my goal was to create a soothing sanctuary informed by 9 pieces of art by a significant 21st century artist purchased at auction. Here's a peek at a corner of the primary bedroom that is a work in progress.

This home in Redmond Ridge sat vacant until our client acquired it at an auction. She updated the kitchen, painted and made the home look like new. She then hired NewVue Design to lightly stage the living, dining, kitchen, master bedroom and bath to complete the transformation.

The vintage stair rail was purchased at an auction. There were not enough posts and a lot of missing parts so it was like a jig saw puzzle putting it back together!
The vintage pendant light was from an elementary school demo.

The former ladies room had ample space and we were able to create a vanity from a great claw foot dresser. We created a linen closet by painting and antiquing a pantry cabinet from a home salvage auction. photo by Mary Willie
