Jacob Hand; Our client purchased a true Chicago loft in one of the city’s best locations and wanted to upgrade his developer-grade finishes and post-collegiate furniture. We stained the floors, installed concrete backsplash tile to the rafters and tailored his furnishings & fixtures to look as dapper as he does.

This transitional canopy bed really makes a statement. The bachelors chests in the two tone finish frame the bed and give it even more presence. The settee at the foot of the bed was designed for my client's dogs to sleep on.

The master had to be relaxing and inviting so Allison chose soothing wall colors and warm accents. She loved the selection of the medium teal as a backdrop for the space. Each piece of furniture was carefully selected – since they started from scratch – keeping a good, collective theme without appearing like a furniture set.

Inspiration for a huge modern master gray tile and stone tile dark wood floor freestanding bathtub remodel in Miami with a vessel sink, open cabinets, soapstone countertops, a one-piece toilet and gray walls

A bachelor’s master bathroom sustained a debilitating leak, requiring the entire bathroom to be demolished. The homeowner took this as an opportunity to fully remodel, rather than simply replace the elements. Omega Cabinets in Walnut Pumice echo the cabinets in his kitchen, which was remodeled concurrently. An extra thick, black countertop makes a strong statement, coordinating with the shower bench and the free standing tub, which are also black. The frameless shower reveals a porcelain tile backsplash that extends across the entire wall, past the shower. The finished product was clean, contemporary and masculine, reflecting the client’s aesthetic preferences. The guest bath upstairs is organic, simple and understated.

A college-bound girl’s dream bedroom oasis comes to life featuring livable luxe style by blending traditional and contemporary lines with whimsical touches and layers of texture rich textiles to evoke a sense of magical retreat. Photo by: Lucas Finlay A successful entrepreneur and self-proclaimed bachelor, the owner of this 1,100-square-foot Yaletown property sought a complete renovation in time for Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. The goal: make it party central and keep the neighbours happy. For the latter, we added acoustical insulation to walls, ceilings, floors and doors. For the former, we designed the kitchen to provide ample catering space and keep guests oriented around the bar top and living area. Concrete counters, stainless steel cabinets, tin doors and concrete floors were chosen for durability and easy cleaning. The black, high-gloss lacquered pantry cabinets reflect light from the single window, and amplify the industrial space’s masculinity. To add depth and highlight the history of the 100-year-old garment factory building, the original brick and concrete walls were exposed. In the living room, a drywall ceiling and steel beams were clad in Douglas Fir to reference the old, original post and beam structure. We juxtaposed these raw elements with clean lines and bold statements with a nod to overnight guests. In the ensuite, the sculptural Spoon XL tub provides room for two; the vanity has a pop-up make-up mirror and extra storage; and, LED lighting in the steam shower to shift the mood from refreshing to sensual.

This bold and blue traditional kitchen was designed by Bilotta’s Jeni Spaeth with Interior Designer Jane Bell of Jane Bell Interiors. Designed for a bachelor’s penthouse, the view from the apartment spectacularly overlooks Westchester County with sights as far as Manhattan. Featuring Bilotta Collection Cabinetry in a 1” thick door, the design team strayed far from the classic white kitchen and opted for a regal shade of blue on the perimeter and natural walnut on the island. The color palette is further emphasized by the polished Blue Bahia granite top on the island and beautifully accented by the pops of gold used for the decorative hardware. The focal point of the kitchen is the Cornu Fe range, the Albertine model in black with satin nickel and polished brass accents. The accompanying hood is a custom design by Rangecraft in brushed stainless with satin gold elements. The countertop and backsplash surrounding the hearth area are in soft beige tones, a needed contrast to the darker hues of the cabinets and range. The L-shaped layout, with seating at the island, allows for wide-open views into the adjoining rooms and to the city below through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Located in the exclusive development of Bachelor Gulch, CO this ski-in, ski-out home’s design recalls the historic lodges of the West’s National Parks. The use of massive logs, hand hewn siding and locally sourced moss rock base dominate the exterior. The interior has a refined feel with a mix of black granite reclaimed barn board siding and antique wide plank floors. The home uses a Geothermal based radiant floor heating system.
