1950's mid-century modern beach house built by architect Richard Leitch in Carpinteria, California. Leitch built two one-story adjacent homes on the property which made for the perfect space to share seaside with family. In 2016, Emily restored the homes with a goal of melding past and present. Emily kept the beloved simple mid-century atmosphere while enhancing it with interiors that were beachy and fun yet durable and practical. The project also required complete re-landscaping by adding a variety of beautiful grasses and drought tolerant plants, extensive decking, fire pits, and repaving the driveway with cement and brick.

Stylish brewery owners with airline miles that match George Clooney’s decided to hire Regan Baker Design to transform their beloved Duboce Park second home into an organic modern oasis reflecting their modern aesthetic and sustainable, green conscience lifestyle. From hops to floors, we worked extensively with our design savvy clients to provide a new footprint for their kitchen, dining and living room area, redesigned three bathrooms, reconfigured and designed the master suite, and replaced an existing spiral staircase with a new modern, steel staircase. We collaborated with an architect to expedite the permit process, as well as hired a structural engineer to help with the new loads from removing the stairs and load bearing walls in the kitchen and Master bedroom. We also used LED light fixtures, FSC certified cabinetry and low VOC paint finishes. Regan Baker Design was responsible for the overall schematics, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, as well as the selection and procurement of all fixtures, cabinets, equipment, furniture,and accessories. This West University Master Bathroom remodel was quite the challenge. Our design team rework the walls in the space along with a structural engineer to create a more even flow. In the begging you had to walk through the study off master to get to the wet room. We recreated the space to have a unique modern look. The custom vanity is made from Tree Frog Veneers with countertops featuring a waterfall edge. We suspended overlapping circular mirrors with a tiled modular frame. The tile is from our beloved Porcelanosa right here in Houston. The large wall tiles completely cover the walls from floor to ceiling . The freestanding shower/bathtub combination features a curbless shower floor along with a linear drain. We cut the wood tile down into smaller strips to give it a teak mat affect. The wet room has a wall-mount toilet with washlet. The bathroom also has other favorable features, we turned the small study off the space into a wine / coffee bar with a pull out refrigerator drawer.
