In 2009, Visionscapes was proud to be part of the construction of the Rotary Flames house at the Alberta Children's Hospital. The project consisted of several expansive brick retaining walls, multiple seating areas, play areas, green space, an outdoor kitchen and an expansive adaptive learning and play area for kids and their families receiving end of life treatment at this special facility. Windows, Windows, Windows. From floor to ceiling, from room to room, s magnificent display of windows bathes this fabulous country club home with natural light. The amount of natural light in your rooms can really affect your mood. Those blessed rays, filled with sunlight and vitamin D make you feel positive. The free-flowing open concept plan of the kitchen, family room, dining area, breakfast nook and additional seating space provides a warm ambience, letting in even additional light. A gorgeous hardwood floor throughout helps to complete the transition from room to room. The focal point of the kitchen is the two-color island accommodating multiple seating. The kitchen features an abundance of prep space and storage, custom cabinetry and natural stone countertops, while the rich hardwood floors emphasizes the warmth that makes this kitchen a special space for family gatherings and entertaining.

Our Friends at LBF Homes completed this Gorgeous project in Austin, Tx using Ipe Decking & Siding to wrap around this Beautiful home with big pool side views of the ATX skyline. LBF Homes Blessed this deck with some unique details that make this project pop. Completed with Ipe Decking all around the home. Scott and Janet of Elgin have had four design to build renovations with Advance Design over the last decade. We got the chance to sit down and talk with Janet about her experience working with Advance Design on so many different areas of her home. Starting with her kitchen in 2009, Janet proclaimed, “The reason we kept coming back is because our first [renovation] went so extremely well, exceeding all of my expectations.” Since their kitchen renovation with Advance Design ten years ago, Scott and Janet have also worked with Advance to remodel their master bedroom, their power room, a wet bar, and most recently their master bath. Having renovated practically every major room in the house with the team, we asked Janet what made her experience with Advance Design so special. “We went with Advance Design because we trusted them so much more, their experience, and everything that they brought. We were confident they were giving us what we wanted for the money we were spending.” For their most recent renovation, Scott and Janet clearly knew what to expect going into their master bath renovation. They were familiar with Advance’s step by step design process that epitomizes the “Common Sense Remodeling” philosophy applied in every project Advance creates. After once again experiencing the careful budgeting analysis, the pointed design meetings, and the clear documentation that leads up the a thoroughly managed installation, Janet’s simple summary of their experience is this; “The word I would use to describe the process is – collaboration!” Working closely with Advance Design kitchen designer Michelle Lecinski, together they were able to develop a new master bath design that not only worked with their investment goal, but also made sense for their lifestyle. “Oh Michelle, my designer! I connected with her immediately. She spent time getting to know us, our lifestyle, even the setting of our house.” The threesome had a great experience designing and producing yet another successful project together. When it came to their new project plans, Scott and Janet were interested in creating a relaxing “spa-like” experience in their master bath. One of the many ideas Michelle introduced during the design process was installing a Kohler Alteo series showerhead for a rain-like shower experience. This designer showerhead, mixed with the warm ambiance of the lighting and pebble accent running throughout the shower make for what Janet calls a “luxury spa essence”. From the oversized glass sliding door to the recessed niche for accessories, each special detail was considered and implemented intentionally so as to create the maximumly optimized use of the compact space. Not only was this transformation one of beauty and luxury, but special attention was given to every way possible to provide additional storage to maximize the functionality of the bath area as a whole. Once design was complete and the bath construction project began in their home, making sure everything happened efficiently and on schedule became new priority number one. “Having a project manager made an enormous difference,” Janet said, “It was so worth it to hire professionals that knew exactly what they were doing. Even after all of these years, I wouldn’t change a thing.” “It was a pleasure working together with Janet and Scott to create this beautiful space that will enhance their lives for many years,” says Michelle. “It is so much fun to get to do this job every day, I love that I can have this sort of impact on their lives by doing something for them [Janet & Scott] that comes so naturally to me!” After reviewing the long-term relationship with clients like Scott and Janet, owner Todd Jurs had this to say, “Clients returning and asking us to transform that next area of their home really warms my heart. Could a dreadful dishwasher leak be a blessing in disguise? The Redding kitchen was very odd. The house was a beautiful brick house from the early 1900’s, but the kitchen had been renovated since then with an impractical layout. It worked, but, for as much time as Mr. and Mrs. spend in the kitchen, it left much to be desired. Because they enjoy cooking so much, they dreamed of having a functional kitchen that added to the character of the home and respected the history of it. So that’s why Mr. and Mrs. went to a Lancaster Home Show where they meet ALL Renovation & Design. They were impressed with our process which guides clients through the design phase in a unique way that guarantees a customized remodel, tailored to their dreams. We really hit it off, but, since they were still in the idea stage, the years passed quickly. Then one morning they discovered a puddle under the dishwasher. And, as is often the case, the damage had already spread to the surrounding cabinets and a large area of the floor. And upon further inspection, it was discovered that part of the floor was made with asbestos – which would require expert remediation. This was turning into a major rehab project. That’s when they were faced with a tough call: do they patch it up now and rip it out in a few years when they remodel the entire kitchen, or, do they remodel now? They called ALL Renovation & Design. First we worked with the insurance company to raise the damage claim to what it would have actually cost to repair the damage done by the leak… several thousand dollars higher than what they had initially appraised it. Then we guided Mr. and Mrs. through the design process that carefully articulated the goals and vision for the new kitchen. Functionality and complementing the home’s character were top priority. They were extremely pleased with the help we provided in guiding them through the cabinet choices, layout, and color selections. Communication was key. Especially when we got into the demolition and construction work. One thing you can be sure of when working with older homes is that there are almost always surprises between the walls. For the Redding kitchen it took the form of a steel support beam that we discovered on the second day of demolition. Because it prevented us from opening up the doorway, we had to pivot and adjust the cabinet spacing. Electrical access was also a serious problem that required added creativity to be sure the new space would include all the functionality of a modern kitchen. But all the challenges were overcome through creativity and almost constant communication. At last, it was complete. Together we transformed the space into a beautiful transitional kitchen that is a joy to work in. The maple cabinets with full-overlay doors were painted in matte white with copper hardware. The countertop and backsplash were Hanstone Quartz in the Strato color. It included a 30” single-basin sink in 14-gauge hammered copper. For the floor they chose Lauzan Maple Hardwood in the Sahara finish, installed in the herringbone pattern. And to really set off the kitchen, the old appliances were replaced with new GE Café appliances in their classy matte white with brushed copper accents.

Inspiration for a transitional family room remodel in Chicago

We were very blessed to work with these clients who came to us with a wooded lot in North Saanich and wanted to create a home for themselves that worked with their lifestyle and aesthetic. Both clients are avid bikers and kayakers and wanted to be able to get out and enjoy the outdoors and be able to feel like they lived in the wilderness of B.C. We completed as little tree removal as necessary, including putting effort into maintaining the fern and salal landscape that encompassed the woodlands surrounding the project. Staging area for construction and material storage were also limited, and scheduling the subtrades for their work was tight, but with competent site management, we left the site in a natural state. The energy efficiency was close to net zero, but the solar component and the proximity of the many trees made it difficult to attain a complete net zero level. We included a 6” rock wool exterior insulation layer around the entire home, under-slab insulation and other key items to maximize the efficiency of the living areas. Additional seismic components were also included to increase the longevity of the home and protection of the occupants should a seismic event occur.

Our client had already used Twisted Rock previously for a different project and we were blessed enough to have them utilize our services again!! They wanted another clean-looking, low maintenance yard that was functional with great curb appeal that would not take a bunch of time to maintain. We utilized natural rock, concrete edging, and aggregate as well as created a fire pit patio for cozy family nights under the stars.... Vinyl fencing was the final touch to create this maintenance free project.

This elegant U-shaped staircase rises in a home blessed with mountain views and abundant natural light. recent kitchen remodel in Chantilly, VA completed by KBF by Audi Contractors with design assistance from Sallie Finney Kjos with Grey Hunt Interiors. As a company we work with a handful of select interior design firms to assist with large scale remolding projects. For this project, Sallie tasked us to create a more efficient kitchen so that her client’s entire family could enjoy for years to come. Our Leesburg Design Team quickly got to work by removing the inefficient walk in pantry and small pony wall next to the old fridge. We decided to move the fridge, range and microwave into spaces that were much more efficient. By removing the cooktop off the island, we were able to create a large prep island that could house 3 stools for her kids to sit and converse while cooking was happening. With Sallies guidance, the client selected products and colors that were inviting and clean. This was definitely a fun project to work on, the client is super excited. We are blessed to have Sallie as a partner and for her awesome clients

This stunning 8,600 sf single-family home gracefully blends contemporary aesthetic with historic architecture. Situated on a tight, urban lot in the bustling Wicker Park neighborhood, the project presented unique challenges associated with constructing a new structure while preserving and renovating the circa 1880’s coach house. Several notable elements: the use of 3 different window systems (including Chicago’s first installation of the “Thermal Evolution Technology” Hopes Windows), a structurally glazed 3-sided glass link seamlessly connecting the new home to the historical coach house, an exterior zinc metal panel system on the rear façade, polished terrazzo flooring, Carlisle Optimistic Stone wide plank flooring on the 2nd floor, and radiant floor heat throughout.
