Our homeowner came to us with an older backsplit bungalow with 3 traditionally divided rooms which they wanted to unify into one large kitchen and family room space. After removing all the walls and bulkheads we were able to put new plank flooring throughout the new open space. We then installed new, Benjamin Moore painted custom cabinetry in the kitchen area followed by stunning Cambria quartz countertops in the "Portrush" colour. Glazed backsplash was then installed to complete the look. The colour combinations and the final look and feel is simply stunning! Have a look at the before pics to see where we started.

This home was being sold and needed some updating to bring the value where it needed to be for the current market. We gutted the kitchen and replaced everything! All new cabinetry, appliances, flooring, hardware and fixtures, lighting, paint, and more. We added some great floating shelves and we were able to remove all of the upper bulkheads so that we could maximize cabinetry heights around the perimeter of the room. Needless to say, the kitchen sold this house inside of a couple of days on the market! The new buyers expressed that the kitchen really impressed them and exceeded their needs and expectations.

Several years ago, Jill and Brian remodeled their kitchen with TKS Design Group and recently decided it was time to look at a primary bath remodel. Jill and Brian wanted a completely fresh start. We tweaked the layout slightly by reducing the size of the enormous tub deck and expanding the vanities and storage into the old tub deck zone as well as pushing a bit into the awkward carpeted dressing area. By doing so, we were able to substantially expand the existing footprint of the shower. We also relocated the French doors so that the bath would take advantage of the light brought in by the skylight in that area. A large arched window was replaced with a similar but cleaner lined version, and we removed the large bulkhead and columns to open the space. A simple freestanding tub now punctuates the area under the window and makes for a pleasing focal point. Subtle but significant changes. We chose a neutral gray tile for the floor to ground the space, and then white oak cabinetry and gold finishes bring warmth to the pallet. The large shower features a mix of white and gray tile where an electronic valve system offers a bit of modern technology and customization to bring some luxury to the everyday. The bathroom remodel also features plenty of storage that keeps the everyday necessities tucked away. The result feels modern, airy and restful!

We addressed the need for seating by adding two islands one for cooking and one for prep and clean up with an addition of a prep sink. The larger island has an end grain cherry butchers block located between the two cook tops. To help speed the daily activity of prep we added pot filler in the back splash. WINE CELLAR, 2010 NARI CAPITAL COTY FINALIST AWARD WINNER The homeowners wanted to include a wine cellar in their basement remodel, which also involved converting their basement into an adult game room and socializing space. Because they enjoyed visiting wineries and tasting wines, and were well on their way to having their own collection of fine wines, they decided to convert their old storage area into a wine cellar. The project includes several nice touches including the faux wine barrel painting on the overhead ceiling bulkhead. Wine racks are custom designed to fit the ceiling, offer different types of storage and a pleasing pattern. The wine tasting bar is decorated with the mural, and has a curved granite top and carved wooden arch that make it unique. The tile floor is bright and easy to clean, and resembles limestone. The wine cellar also touts a custom glass door motif and curved end storage shelving. The cellar has its own climate control, and the door has double paned glass with extra insulating strips around the edges to help keep the temperature constant between the cellar and the adjoining basement room.

A unique family home that incorporates contemporary and daring features. The layout of this house was designed with a focus on entertainment while making the most of the space of the plot. This 4-bedroom family home features large areas that blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living. Modern bulkhead ceilings brighten up the open plan area while the matte black painted doors create a moody atmosphere upon entering the different rooms. The combination of elegant, timeless finishes combined with moody hues resulted in yet another stylish home added to our proud portfolio

In this project, we installed new doors, casing, baseboard, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and paint throughout the main floor. Brand new cabinets, fixtures, quartz countertops and a ceramic backsplash are the highlights in the kitchen, which was then opened up to the dining room with the help of a raised bulkhead. The main bathroom was completely redone, and the secondary bathroom was then converted to a walk in closet + ensuite with brand new cabinets, mirrors, glass, and fixtures.

Our clients had lovingly cared for their home for 16 years. In this small home, space was at a premium and the couple wanted to update this poorly functioning kitchen to match the rest of their Arts & Crafts style home. Key requirements of this kitchen remodel design included: - Improved lighting - Better traffic pattern - More storage - Incorporating the Pewabic tile the clients loved IMPROVED LIGHTING A new lighting plan for the kitchen included: - Three pendants over the new island - Pendant lighting over the sink - Recessed lights throughout - Under cabinet lighting BETTER TRAFFIC PATTERN The refrigerator was moved from the main walkway to a perimeter wall. Its new location creates one point in the now smaller working triangle. Prep space was previously scarce and the new island allows two to work in the kitchen without one getting trapped in the corner. MORE STORAGE A new island supplies storage that was non-existent before and it creates a place for people to sit and connect. Although we replaced a slider with a door, we added a pantry cabinet which was also new storage the kitchen did not previously have. Bulkheads were removed allowing cabinets to extend to the ceiling. INCORPORATING PEWABIC TILE Pewabic tile is handcrafted stoneware clay tile that is made in Detroit with a history dating back to 1903. Our clients fell in love with this tile years ago and used it on the landing of their staircase and wanted to incorporate it into the kitchen design. We decided to let this gorgeous tile take center stage by creating an eye-catching backsplash. The flooring also incorporates details that connect back to the Pewabic tiles used on the walls. OVERALL RESULTS The remodeled kitchen has improved the feel of the whole first floor. A clear pathway runs from the living room through the kitchen and from the kitchen into the dining room. A new island supplies much-needed storage and provides a place for people to eat casual meals and hang out. The new lighting plan brightened not only the kitchen, but also the adjacent rooms. Now, with the kitchen completed, the whole house has a cohesive Arts & Crafts aesthetic – Mission Accomplished! “The kitchen design is everything we hoped it would be.
