We added lots of details such as the bead board ceiling, beams and crown molding and carved details on the fireplace. The kitchen is full of detail and charm. Pocket door storage allows a drop zone for the kids and can easily be closed to conceal the daily mess. Beautiful fantasy brown marble counters and white marble mosaic back splash compliment the herringbone ceramic tile floor. Built-in seating opened up the space for more cabinetry in lieu of a separate dining space. This custom banquette features pattern vinyl fabric for easy cleaning. We designed this custom TV unit to be left open for access to the equipment. The sliding barn doors allow the unit to be closed as an option, but the decorative boxes make it attractive to leave open for easy access. The hex coffee tables allow for flexibility on movie night ensuring that each family member has a unique space of their own. And for a family of 7 a very large custom made sofa can accommodate everyone. The colorful palette of blues, whites, reds and pinks make this a happy space for the entire family to enjoy. Ceramic tile laid in a herringbone pattern is beautiful and practical for a large family. Fun DIY art made from a calendar of cities is a great focal point in the dinette area.

This moody Industrial Farmhouse Kitchen is one of our all time favorite designs! Lucky for us this young family called upon our skills yet again to dream & deliver a cohesive new look for the entire main level of their Moorestown, New Jersey home. We knew Tracy & Tim really loved the end result of their mancave basement, with its painted black ceiling, and industrial vibe. The kitchen, however, needed to be a bit lighter so it would connect to the rest of their home. Solutions: bigger windows, dark gray & distressed walnut cabinets, a burnished copper hood, mesh textures (both in the bar and the stools), lighter quartz counters, and a backsplash that looks like whitewashed brick. We even infused some extra style and function by having a custom bay storage bench created for their empty bay window. This mud room just had to connect to the dark gray and wood tones of the kitchen, as the lockers are easily seen down the back hall. Custom storage with heavy duty mesh, oversized cabinet pulls, organizer charging and family calendar center are jsut a few of the well thought out details in this wonderful space!

This full time working mom has a small kitchen without a pantry. Because space was at a minimum and she felt she wasn't managing her time effectively she wasn't cooking dinner, which was becoming too expensive. Utilizing the space both above and under the pie safe gave her more room for canned and dry goods. Creating a command center next to the pie safe allowed her to keep the family's activities on track.

Our socially engaged, active client transplanted from the East Coast found a charming older home in Minneapolis that provided a home base in a new city. While the home had its charm, the dark interior didn’t provide the uplifting respite she desired. With a busy travel schedule and calendar full of after-hours social events, she was looking for a space to unwind at the end of a long day. She wanted to maximize her time at home, and a place to host friends pre-gala. We transformed an extra bedroom into a happy-hour type lounge with upholstered chairs and bar cart along with her Grandmother’s vanity and privacy screen for the ultimate pre-gala experience. In the kitchen, we replaced the dark cabinetry with open painted shelves to lighten the space and provide convenient access to her glassware, adding sparkle to the room. And perhaps most importantly, her bedroom is now a quiet, peaceful refuge with luxurious details that wrap her in warmth and relaxation. ---- Project designed by Minneapolis interior design studio LiLu Interiors. Kitchen - transitional kitchen idea in Philadelphia

This kitchen was designed for a very active family. The goal was light, bright, and functional. Matte finish Caesarstone counters and Smudge Proof stainless appliances all help Mom keep maintenance to a minimum. We chose high gloss white cabinets with co-ordinating striation bases to give this Kitchen a clean and contemporary feel. The backsplash features a beautiful back painted glass subway tile with a soft off white pearlescent shimmer. The Kitchen needed to pack a lot of punch functionally for optimal storage capacity. Interior Designer Rael Hay cleverly capitalized on every square inch even devising a “Command Centre” for Mom - complete with homework organizer, family calendar, additional storage and Charging Station ready for the lap top. Designing and engineering this kitchen was a team effort. A twenty-four foot bearing wall was removed and replaced with a twenty-four foot steel beam to create a more open space. The existing soffits and electrical were removed by our craftsmen, as well. The owners were then able to plan the kitchen of their dreams. Also, new hardwood flooring, HVAC, plumbing and electrical - including recessed and pendant lights were installed Installation of crown molding, cabinets, hardware, appliances, hood, and plumbing fixtures were performed by our skilled craftsmen, many of whom have been with our company for over fifteen years. A complete and eclectic rear garden renovation with a creative blend of formal and natural elements. Formal lawn panel and rose garden, craftsman style wood deck and trellis, homages to Goldsworthy and Stonehenge with large boulders and a large stone cairn, several water features, a Japanese Torii gate, rock walls and steps, vegetables and herbs in containers and a new parking area paved with permeable pavers that feed an underground storage area that in turns irrigates the garden. Custom cabinets and panels to the ceiling allowed us to hide the fact that the staircase to the second floor is behind the pantry (angled ceiling in the corner). The 'telephone and calendar' niche is to the left of the refrigerator.

We anchored the kitchen with a large custom island that features a gorgeous single hand-hammered copper sink, bronze faucets and two dish washers. Along the wall is a French culinary handmade La Cornue stove and custom-built range hood that creates a stunning focal point. It’s surrounded by classic white stacked cabinetry—the left- and right-side cabinets flush with the countertops. The top row of cabinets is designed with glass-paneled doors and in-cabinet lighting perfect for highlighting kitchen collectibles. A convenient way to save valuable counter space, and help provide a clean, clutter-free look for the kitchen, we installed an appliance garage with plenty of storage. The large, walk-in pantry was designed with convenient roll out shelves. The kitchen countertops were topped with Taj Mahal quartzite, which were polished in a leathered finish to create the rustic feel our clients were looking for. Two large refrigerator/freezer combo units were designed into the space to provide plenty of food storage, both fresh and frozen. A convenient “Command Center” was added to one end of the refrigerator wall, concealed behind the cabinet doors, to store mail, a kid’s activity calendar, school papers, a bulletin board, etc. The base cabinet between the kitchen and great room was designed with plenty of drawers and a high-power docking station for charging multiple devices, including tablets, phones, reading devices, and headsets.

Additionally contained in this home are custom features such as built-in floating shelves around the corner from the kitchen with an outlet for convenient yet out-of-sight storage for items like cell-phone charging and keeping track of events on the calendar. The ͞broom cabinet͟ next to the refrigerator provides handy access to those unsightly but necessary cleaning tools. Also included is an integrated steel tornado shelter safe-room for keeping the family safe during an emergency.

Inspiration for a contemporary dining room remodel in San Francisco

Garden ponds should hold the viewer with three qualities; they need to be soothing, striking and seemingly ever-present in the way they fit into the beholder's imagination, meaning they need to fit seamlessly, not thrust into a foreign setting. Our philosophy is if it does not fit into a travel brochure or a scenic calendar, it does not fit in your landscape. The vast majority of water features are either a pile of rock and mulch, or they are grass to the edge of the water. Neither of those treatments lend to a natural soothing look. Our waters are deep in sense of place. That place is often from a favorite memory. This particular garden pond is from an image of a mountain meadow, complete with native wildflowers enhanced by our designs which allow us to bring mountain wildflowers down to more populated elevations. This large family required multiple work zones to avoid congestion and to provide clear pathways. We started with removing a wall to open the space. This enlarged the layout and provided an opening for a new cooktop flanked by custom cabinetry.
