Inspiration for a timeless red brick exterior home remodel in New York

Boston Aquariums installed this 300 gallon saltwater aquarium for a client with an ocean view home on the north shore. It is built out of 1″ cast acrylic and viewed from both the living room/bar area and the dining room. The tank is supported with a powder coated steel frame finished with custom cabinetry on both sides. Custom coral was hand selected and the tank is stocked with a community of exotic saltwater species.

Dramatic plant textures, modern hardscaping and sharp angles enhanced this mid-century modern bungalow. Soft plants were chosen to contrast with the sharp angles of the pathways and hard edges of the MCM home, while providing all-season interest. Horizontal privacy screens wrap the front porch and create intimate garden spaces – some visible only from the street and some visible only from inside the home. The front yard is relatively small in size, but full of colorful texture.

This large galley kitchen was taken down to the studs, and re-imagined to be bright and cheery. The traditional white cabinets feature glass-front doors and hidden features such as pull-out garbage bins, tray storage and dishwasher. Corner shot that shows all the transitions and layers I built in to deal with all the levels in the garden. A design fits together like a puzzle and I obsess over the way these levels can become functional and house nooks for eating, sitting, BBQs etc. It's an important part of using the whole space.

This kitchen features a trash pull, 2 spice pull-outs, a lazy susan, custom wood hood, tray dividers above the oven, a walk through pantry, pantry with broom storage and a hidden storage compartment for keys and electronics.
