The Beauty of Rich Finishes
The designer instills a dramatic, moody and deeply textured aesthetic in the kitchen space. The walnut wood combined with dark and moody tones, creates an intimate ambiance making this large open space feel grounded, stable, and welcoming. Layered lighting from natural light and track lighting, along with integrated high-end appliances, adds to the striking beauty.
The kitchen exudes warmth and elegance characterized by the luxurious Topos Walnut wood cabinets with their rich color and naturally smooth grain. The walnut palette, combined with the textured dark grey Kiruna cabinets and the marble-like Laurent stone—which showcases a deep brown hue with integrated gold and copper veining—creates a powerful and beautiful atmosphere.
The design is a highly organized layout that focuses on the homeowner’s every day and entertaining lifestyle, emphasizing functionality, efficiency, and streamlined aesthetics.

The pantry is accessible yet hidden from the main kitchen via a passage door concealed within the main kitchen.
The downstairs bar area has a sink, dishwasher, beverage fridge and drawer microwave. Designed for easy functionality, it offers ample counter space for small appliances like a juicer, blender, or tea kettle, allowing for refreshment after using the adjacent home gym.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"Goran and his team at Leight Westchester are highly reliable, trustworthy and just fantastic! We were more than satisfied with Goran’s professional advice as well as attention to details. All of our friends who visit our house praise the look and design of our custom kitchen, powder room and basement wet bar. Goran also introduced and coordinated the Dekton and other stone fabrication companies who did an impeccable job in design, color and specifications. Goran even gave us his opinion as to the lighting designs which were of great help. All European seamless cabinet doors with no handle look just impressive. A few of our friends have already started working with Goran on the entire kitchen cabinet system, and all thank us for the introduction!!!"

The English Tudor style of the historic Cheelcroft section of Hohokus is characterized by slate roofs, stucco, hand-cut siding, stonework and patterned brick. Morpurgo Architects incorporated each of these elements in a renovation that now embodies 1930's Old World charm in a new, cohesive composition designed for modern times.
Though this house has been significantly enlarged, the additions are kept to a scale that is sensitive to the Tudor style. The street facade remains true to the original footprint, so that it continues to be situated comfortably among its neighbors. Beyond the front entrance, the house evolves from existing rooms with traditionally low ceilings to unexpected heights.
As a departure from original Tudor houses, our firm crafted the additions to this house with tall cathedral spaces resembling the great halls of European manor houses. Large steel casement double-insulated windows and doors flood the rooms with light and integrate these spaces with the surrounding gardens that offer compelling vistas to the landscape through historic-styled leaded glass panes.

This home and separate fun room (cabana) has an open floor plan with a living room with fireplace, dining room, and home theater. Custom marble countertops, brushed black stainless-steel appliances, a center island with bar seating, a butler's pantry with walk-in pantry, and a breakfast room with sliding doors to the patio are all featured in this gourmet kitchen. A comfortable family room with custom built-ins, a fireplace with marble mantle, and sliding pocket doors to a covered patio connects to the kitchen. Large grassy area, BBQ with bar seating, pool/spa, and attached leisure room (cabana) with HVAC and three-quarter bath in the backyard. A pitched white oak ceiling with beam design, fireplace with brick accent wall, custom built-ins with espresso machine and refrigerator, huge master balcony, and two walk-in closets with bespoke lighting and generous vanity characterize the spacious master bedroom. Custom tilework, as well as a huge dual shower with accent lighting and marble slabs, are included in the master bath. High ceilings, unique tilework, brickwork, and woodwork throughout, solar panel system, surround sound speakers, and other entertainer/designer touches round out the home.

The new construction luxury home was designed by our Carmel design-build studio with the concept of 'hygge' in mind – crafting a soothing environment that exudes warmth, contentment, and coziness without being overly ornate or cluttered. Inspired by Scandinavian style, the design incorporates clean lines and minimal decoration, set against soaring ceilings and walls of windows. These features are all enhanced by warm finishes, tactile textures, statement light fixtures, and carefully selected art pieces.
In the living room, a bold statement wall was incorporated, making use of the 4-sided, 2-story fireplace chase, which was enveloped in large format marble tile. Each bedroom was crafted to reflect a unique character, featuring elegant wallpapers, decor, and luxurious furnishings. The primary bathroom was characterized by dark enveloping walls and floors, accentuated by teak, and included a walk-through dual shower, overhead rain showers, and a natural stone soaking tub.
An open-concept kitchen was fitted, boasting state-of-the-art features and statement-making lighting. Adding an extra touch of sophistication, a beautiful basement space was conceived, housing an exquisite home bar and a comfortable lounge area.

The living room drew its inspiration from a collection of pillows characterized by rich velvet, plaid, and paisley patterns in shades of blue and red. This design approach conveyed a British Colonial style with a touch of Ralph Lauren's distinctive flair. A blue chenille fabric was employed to upholster a tufted sofa adorned with leather and brass bridle bit accents on the sides. At the center of the room is a striking plaid ottoman, complemented by a pair of blood-red leather chairs positioned to capture a picturesque lake view. Enhancing this view are paisley drapes, which extend from floor to pine ceiling.

Transforming a primary bathroom into a tranquil retreat often begins with integrating sleek, modern elements. The inclusion of a walk-in shower adorned with linen drain accents not only adds functionality but also exudes sophistication. Pairing this with elegant pendant lights creates an ambiance of refined luxury, elevating the space into a haven of relaxation. The modern style, characterized by clean lines and minimalist design, further enhances the overall aesthetic, ensuring a harmonious balance of form and function. This fusion of elements results in a primary bathroom that is stylish and exudes a serene ambiance, perfect for unwinding after a long day.

A kitchen with a traditional line, available in 4 colours: IVORY, BLUE, DARK ASH and LIGHT OAK. Characterized by versatile handles, that are well suited to classical or modern settings. Precious the Country hood with solid coloured and cone steel or white. A wide range of fitting and household appliances makes this kitchen dynamic and long lasting.

THE SETUP
The original primary bathroom was characterized by a disjointed and segmented layout. The shower featured a bulky glass-block enclosure that overwhelmed the space visually. There was a considerable amount of open, unused space, and despite having a his and hers vanity, the arrangement lacked personal space for each user, as they shared the conjoined space between the sinks. The toilet was inconveniently located right by the door, with a half-wall partition meant to provide privacy but instead contributing to a cramped and unbalanced feel. Overall, the bathroom’s layout and design were fragmented, failing to make the most of the available space and lacking adequate storage solutions.
Design objectives:
- Reconfigure the layout to enhance functionality and flow.
- Create an elegant, upscale aesthetic that is light and bright.
- Incorporate specialized storage solutions for female hair care needs.
- Increase overall storage capacity.
- Develop a spa-like shower experience.
- Provide a significant wow factor to the space.
THE REMODEL
Design challenges to be solved:
- Repositioning the toilet to a more suitable location.
- Designing hair care storage solutions without cluttering the elegant space.
- Balancing an upscale, elegant design with a feminine touch in the color palette.
- Increasing the brightness of the room without adding windows.
- Completely replacing the existing shower to create a spa-like experience.
- Planning new storage solutions without adding bulkiness or clutter to the cabinetry.
THE RENEWED SPACE
Design solutions:
Toilet Relocation: Moved the toilet by the window, creating a better overall layout that also opened up two full walls for cabinetry and storage solutions.
Specialized Vanity Storage: The left side of the left vanity is the wife’s. Open shelves facing across the vanity can be used for decorative or daily needs items. Pull-out docking drawers with power outlets and metal basins handle hot hair appliances.
Bright and Elegant Color Scheme: White cabinets, countertops, floors, and shower walls keep the space bright. The just-off-white wall color with a hint of pink adds a feminine touch. Thin wainscoting with white trim offers traditional-leaning elegance.
Layered Lighting Strategy: Ceiling can lights, sconces, lighted mirrors, and toe-kick lighting were installed. Natural light-rated bulbs keep the space bright and natural-feeling.
Spa-Like Shower: An extra-large shower was created using the same floor tile materials for continuity. Equipped with a Kohler Anthem system with a shower head, hand-held, and four body sprays. His and Hers niches for separate body care product storage.
Enhanced Storage Solutions: Added a linen cabinet within the vanity area for efficient storage of towels and bathroom essentials.
This elegant bathroom feels incredibly spacious now. The color palette and lights keep the room bright and cheery. Gold fixtures, the herringbone pattern on the floor, and exquisite trim work add an elegant touch. With the husband and wife having their own vanity wall sections joined at the corner, each user truly has their own space within the space. The clients are very happy with the final result.
