THE SOLUTION: A neutral color palette, with textural interest is used throughout the home to serve as supporting elements to the artwork. A young family moving from Brooklyn to their first house spied this classic 1920s colonial and decided to call it their new home. The elderly former owner hadn’t updated the home in decades, and a cramped, dated kitchen begged for a refresh. Designer Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn helped her client design a new kitchen layout, while Virginia Picciolo of Marsella Knoetgren designed the enlarged kitchen space by stealing a little room from the adjacent dining room. A palette of warm gray and nearly black cabinets mix with marble countertops and zellige clay tiles to make a welcoming, warm space that is in perfect harmony with the rest of the home. Great room - contemporary medium tone wood floor great room idea in New York with white walls

We custom designed the pantry with the client’s needs in mind. It serves as overflow for serving and party pieces, as well as cookbooks and small appliances. Photo © Alyssa Rosenheck 2016

Tom Frisch is the photographer for all of these photos. He was a great person to work with. All these locations were shot on the North Side of Chicago in affluent neighborhoods. Each photo had to have a different theme working with the outdoor furniture provided. I purchased all the props and styled each photo for the catalog. These shots were actually done in early Spring or early Fall for the upcoming Summer catalog. It was a huge, creative project. After all the shots were done I had to return all the props back to the stores or prop houses. Check out Lake Michigan beyond the trees!

This retaining wall project in inspired by our Travertina Raw stone. The Travertina Raw collection has been extended to a double-sided, segmental retaining wall system.
