Having an eye for great interior design yet no clue on where to start or how to narrow down their aesthetic vision, a young family turned to Décor Aid to bring their drab pre-war Upper West Side apartment to life. With two young daughters in tow, our clients were looking for high style décor grounded in practicality and function – namely for their foyer, living room, dining room, and den.
Armed with a variety of inspiration from traditional to ultra-modern, they knew that they wanted their apartment’s interior design to look put together and thought through, but were short on a concise design direction.
In comes Décor Aid interior designer Gabrielle G. to revive their stark home with inspired design. After their initial in-home consultation, Gabrielle honed in on key decorative touchstones the couple had interest in and compiled a list of must-haves as an aesthetic foundation for the home.
Starting with fresh coats of pure white paint to liven up and brighten each room, Gabrielle took advantage of the apartments closed floor plan and gave each room it’s own design signature rather than having to ensure that everything flowed together – in turn, giving her more freedom.
Save for a china cabinet and formal dining table, Gabrielle was tasked with sourcing furnishings and accessories and went for clean simplicity as the couple also expressed that they’d like to have pieces that can move with them as their family grows while also being conducive for family life.
As you can see, the space is grounded with soothing neutrals so Gabrielle brought in pops of color and texture through accessories and abstract art for a sophisticated yet casual vibe.
The end result boasts concise design and pulled together everyday glamor for this modern family home that our clients adore, and so do we.

In this full service residential remodel project, we left no stone, or room, unturned. We created a beautiful open concept living/dining/kitchen by removing a structural wall and existing fireplace. This home features a breathtaking three sided fireplace that becomes the focal point when entering the home. It creates division with transparency between the living room and the cigar room that we added. Our clients wanted a home that reflected their vision and a space to hold the memories of their growing family. We transformed a contemporary space into our clients dream of a transitional, open concept home.

Design ideas for a large modern front yard driveway in San Francisco.

Fully outfitted with the little one's clothes, this reach-in nicely accommodates the baby's wardrobe. And as she grows, the hanging bars can be easily reduced to double-hanging height!

Completed in 2017, this project features midcentury modern interiors with copper, geometric, and moody accents. The design was driven by the client's attraction to a grey, copper, brass, and navy palette, which is featured in three different wallpapers throughout the home. As such, the townhouse incorporates the homeowner's love of angular lines, copper, and marble finishes. The builder-specified kitchen underwent a makeover to incorporate copper lighting fixtures, reclaimed wood island, and modern hardware. In the master bedroom, the wallpaper behind the bed achieves a moody and masculine atmosphere in this elegant "boutique-hotel-like" room. The children's room is a combination of midcentury modern furniture with repetitive robot motifs that the entire family loves. Like in children's space, our goal was to make the home both fun, modern, and timeless for the family to grow into. This project has been featured in Austin Home Magazine, Resource 2018 Issue.

8×12 Dollhouse featuring custom windows, asphalt shingles and horizontal clapboard siding from our options pricing. Beautiful playhouse with an overall height of ten feet. It can be converted to a very attractive storage shed when the kids out grow it. Reminiscent of old Victorian houses, the steep rooflines and graceful dormer add a fresh style to boring backyard sheds. The two 2×2 opening windows fill the 96 square feet with lots of light making this quaint little cottage irresistible for the kid inside us all. The single door in the dormer is complemented with large double doors on the gable end allowing bulky items to fit in the shelter.

The small eat - in kitchen was designed with functionality in mind. The clients needed as much counter space as possible for cooking and prepping, as well as a dedicated spot for their many cookbooks.
Soda Glass panels were used for the backsplash. The clients are able to write down recipes, weekly meal schedules and notes on the glass backsplash - making for a truly functional and personal kitchen. The extendable dining table was purchased to cater to their growing family.

The owners style is very clean and modern and they wanted the same look for the outside as they have inside. Orange and blue are the interior accents. The espalier of Cape Honeysuckle will grow tall behind the Buddah. From inside the blue tiled block contrasts well with the orange flowers of the honeysuckle. Succulents and Agaves fill the bottom. The rest of the plants are muted and calm. We transplanted fruit trees to the sunny wall.

For two growing boys, the client wanted a practical and modern bathroom that would be easy to keep clean and tidy. This was an addition bump out from the boys' bedroom. Porcelain tile on the floor and walls is very low maintenance.

RediRoot Plastic Air-Pruning Containers feature a slatted design that distinguishes it from traditional solid wall containers. This design provides plant material with superior aeration and drainage while reducing circling roots.
Air root pruning is a process where a plant's roots are pruned as they grow rather than when they are transplanted. Basically, when a root tip comes in contact with the air it is pruned, sending a signal to the plant to produce more lateral or fibrous roots.
RediRoot’s design features raised feet allowing for 360-degree air-pruning helping you get the most from your plants and trees. RediRoot has a variety of additional benefits including:
Reduces and often eliminates circling roots
Airflow allows growing medium to dry evenly reducing wet spots
Increases yield
Produces a dense, fibrous root structure
Reduces transplant shock
Made from recycled materials
BPA-free and UV resistant

SUNNY ISLES - FLORIDA | Pinnacle Residences | By J Design Group | Modern Interior Designers
Sunny Isles Beach is a city located on a barrier island in northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States.
The City is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. As of 2010, the population is 20,832. Sunny Isles Beach is nicknamed Little Moscow due to its large and growing Russian and Russian Jewish population.
Sunny Isles Beach is an area of cultural diversity with stores lining Collins Avenue, the main thoroughfare through the city.
It is a growing resort area and developers such as Michael Dezer have invested heavily in construction of high-rise hotels and condominiums while licensing the Donald Trump name for some of the buildings for promotional purposes. Sunny Isles Beach has a central location, minutes from Bal Harbour to the south, and Aventura to the north and west.
