This is a prime example of premium quality craftsmanship in the landscape design/build business. By redesigning the front entrance to create a porch/landing with an additional parking court, we significantly improved the appearance and value of the property in Rye, New York. The new driveway was constructed of a porous asphalt material which improved the stormwater management adjacent to the wetland. The landscape planting featured a variety of long blooming, native flowering perennials which attract beneficial insect species. This contributes to the successful management of the landscape with sustainable organics. The custom kinetic sculpture adds a nice finishing touch. Instead of a typical evergreen hedge, native clethra was planted on the property border to define the space while contributing fragrance, grace and pollinators to what easily could have been a less active, sterile space. Heavily planted ground cover natives such as ajuga, creeping jenny, Irish moss, sweet woodruff and geraniums made the need for weeding practically obsolete. The use of ground covers as mulch was most effective for resource management.

Clawson Architects designed a house that looks like part of what would be original to the historic fabric of the town. Saving the existing footprint and adding only about 100 square feet to the foundation. Large overhangs with exposed rafter tails, stone base and chimneys and natural cedar siding all contribute to the historic quality of this new "old" house.

In the master bath, porcelain floor tile in a slate gray clads a feature wall fronting the freestanding tub and dual entry shower. Floating vanities and a dropped ceiling framed with wood contribute to the master bath’s minimalist, zen-like ambiance.

This pool gives you the feeling of swimming into the landscape. The broad, straight line of the horizon and the long, slender vertical lines of the pool underscore the expansiveness of the property, whose size unquestionably contributes to the impact of its natural beauty. The design is rather understated, creating the impression of having been copied directly from the pool’s natural setting. The landscape and the garden have retained their prominent role despite the addition of the natural pool. The pool blends in unassumingly with its surroundings and is sizeable enough to allow for the swimming of long laps. A natural pool is the obvious choice for locations such as this. Natural materials and plant filters are without a doubt the ideal option for gardens like these. The beautiful property certainly contributes a great deal to the overall visual impression, but the pool - as close to nature as possible and reduced to essentials - has the look and feel of a body of water that was created here quite naturally. The addition of the wooden planks and the long, slender shape of the pool are visually very appealing. The water’s edge of the regeneration area blends harmoniously into the landscape and appears as if it had grown there naturally over several years.

The original bathroom in this Toronto home consisted of both a small shower and a large corner bath. And although the number of windows with southern and western exposure added considerable light to the space, it contributed to limitations with placement of the double vanity. Dave and Jenni decided to add a larger double vanity with an adjacent infrared built in sauna, along with a stand up shower. The style of the bathroom was to be kept clean and simple and tile on the majority of wall surfaces achieved this requirement. The most notable feature of the bathroom is the built-in shelving above the sauna, which was created to avoid a large obtrusive flat surface above it, and instead add space for ornamentation and towels. Complete customization of the cabinetry, frame-less shower door and magazine rack contributed to this bathroom's unique features. Outlets placed inside the medicine cabinets created clean sleek walls above the sinks. The integration of such quality manufacturers as Moen and Toto will yield a maintenance free bathroom for years to come.

The goal was to create a sophisticated, elegant vibe to support the family life style We started transforming a dark room by adding this fantastic white wall paper and translucent sheer window treatment. We made the antique bar the living room protagonist by placing it as the focal point of living the room. The white furniture and this beautiful rug contributed to create a canvas to enhance the antique bar.

The clients like to entertain, so the recreation room has a generous bar with kegerator, icemaker, microwave, cooktop, dishwasher, and refrigerator. A fun red countertop accents the gray cabinetry. The clients opted to keep the concrete floor, but added some glitter to the gray paint. The exposed ceiling contributes to the industrial look. HDBros
