Built by Schumacher Homes, America's Largest Custom Home Builder, this stunning West Point Craftsman in Akron, Ohio, effortlessly balances classic architectural details with modern elements. Combining the latest residential design trends with a sophisticated touch, the home’s striking craftsman-style exterior is defined by a unique angled garage that adds immense curb appeal and visual interest to the roof lines of this custom house plan. Upon entering, the residence opens into a soaring two-story great room filled with an abundance of natural light from large feature windows. This expansive main living space is further elevated by a specialized reverse cove ceiling integrated with custom LED lighting, casting a warm glow that accentuates the bright, spacious, and open-concept feeling of the interior.
The culinary center of the home is a luxurious kitchen designed for seamless entertaining and effortless organization. It features a hidden "messy kitchen" secondary prep zone and pantry that provides abundant additional storage, serving as the perfect discrete space to prepare meals while keeping the main kitchen island completely pristine. For main-level luxury, the primary owner's retreat serves as a private oasis complete with separate walk-in closets and a spa-inspired primary bathroom. Upstairs, the thoughtful floor plan accommodates the family quarters, where each of the three additional spacious bedrooms is meticulously outfitted with its own dedicated walk-in closet and convenient access to a full bathroom.

1900 meets 2023 in this historic Brooklyn brownstone overlooking a private backyard oasis. Honoring the home’s legacy is the black and white ¾” mosaic tile floor in an intricate border pattern around the cabinetry and balcony door. Fast-forward to the present with the cutting edge stainless steel waterfall island. Nostalgic touches abound.
Cabinetry is white painted traditional inset construction with a graceful ogee inner profile. Double stacked wall cabinets take full advantage of the tall ceiling height, with triple panels and a shallow display cabinet at the hood elevation for added interest. A rolling library ladder provides convenient access to the upper storage. Polished nickel hinges, decorative hardware, faucets, and ladder rails get an updated twist with their pared-down shapes. Perennially popular marble countertops and white subway backsplash tiles further reinforce the period-correct theme.
Then flipping the script are contemporary, black-trimmed windows, matte black metal dome pendants, and acrylic island stools. To supply some respite for the sea of white, walnut highlights the interiors of the mullion glass cabinets and the two open tray bases flanking the microwave drawer. The wood accent is repeated in the library ladder, which hangs at the ready and functions as a piece of art.

Our socially engaged, active client transplanted from the East Coast found a charming older home in Minneapolis that provided a home base in a new city. While the home had its charm, the dark interior didn’t provide the uplifting respite she desired. With a busy travel schedule and calendar full of after-hours social events, she was looking for a space to unwind at the end of a long day. She wanted to maximize her time at home, and a place to host friends pre-gala. We transformed an extra bedroom into a happy-hour type lounge with upholstered chairs and bar cart along with her Grandmother’s vanity and privacy screen for the ultimate pre-gala experience. In the kitchen, we replaced the dark cabinetry with open painted shelves to lighten the space and provide convenient access to her glassware, adding sparkle to the room. And perhaps most importantly, her bedroom is now a quiet, peaceful refuge with luxurious details that wrap her in warmth and relaxation.

The little pass-through (to the right of the lamp) gives the cat convenient access to the plant ledge in the foyer beyond. She can lay there and look out at the driveway as well as the front garden.

This active family purchased their home and began remodeling before moving in. The out-dated kitchen had oak cabinets and 4" orange tile on the countertops that had to go! (see before photos) It was replaced with a light and bright eat in kitchen. The expansive island provides ample counter space not only for baking and eating, but homework and crafts. Cabinetry with convenient access to blind corners, thoughtful layout for function and storage created a kitchen that is truly the heart of their home. The laundry room is clean and fresh with larger cabinets and a relocated laundry sink under the window. The family room fireplace was also updated with new surround and custom bookcases.

Built in 1915, this classic craftsman style home is located in the Capitol Mansions Historic District. When the time came to remodel, the homeowners wanted to continue to celebrate its history by keeping with the craftsman style but elevating the kitchen’s function to include the latest in quality cabinetry and modern appliances.
The new spacious kitchen (and adjacent walk-in pantry) provides the perfect environment for a couple who loves to cook and entertain. White perimeter cabinets and dark soapstone counters make a timeless and classic color palette. Designed to have a more furniture-like feel, the large island has seating on one end and is finished in an historically inspired warm grey paint color. The vertical stone “legs” on either side of the gas range-top highlight the cooking area and add custom detail within the long run of cabinets. Wide barn doors designed to match the cabinet inset door style slide open to reveal a spacious appliance garage, and close when the kitchen goes into entertainer mode. Finishing touches such as the brushed nickel pendants add period style over the island.
A bookcase anchors the corner between the kitchen and breakfast area providing convenient access for frequently referenced cookbooks from either location.
Just around the corner from the kitchen, a large walk-in butler’s pantry in cheerful yellow provides even more counter space and storage ability. Complete with an undercounter wine refrigerator, a deep prep sink, and upper storage at a glance, it’s any chef’s happy place.

Our design created a furniture-like island with room for bar seats and open shelves. The Wolf rangetop includes a charbroiler and tucked behind the range hides the Wolf downdraft system.
Drawer storage underneath the range provides convenient access to pots and pans.

Appropriately, the spill over spa sits directly across from the sheer descent waterfall. It operates year round and can comfortably accommodate six to eight persons, with convenient access via in-spa steps at the corners. Clad in ledgerock, it is slightly raised to provide comfortable seating for non-bathers.

Redesigned and rebuilt this 1960's home in Scottsdale, Arizona. This new kitchen features two-toned cabinets - crisp white shaker cabinets on the perimeter and the island is a warmer timber tone cabinet with some shiplap on the backside with leg columns extending to provide seating at the island. The quartz countertop is white with soft warm veining, and the backsplash is perfectly imperfect with a 5x5 tiled to the ceiling. We've added wood banding to the hood and floating shelves to complement the island cabinets. The flooring is a wood look porcelain tile. Fun pendant lighting, two toned cabinet hardware on the two-toned cabinets, using matte black and champagne bronze. The walk-in pantry offers additional storage and a beverage center with open shelving above. The laundry room is also conveniently accessible in the pantry with a fun deco tile bringing the space together!

Although the front yard didn't allow much space for planting, a layered look was created by using Snow In Summer (Cerastium tomentosum) in the foreground, a mid-ground of Pink Breath of Heaven (Coleonema), and Chinese Fringe Flower (Loropetalum chinense 'Hine's Purple') surrounding Forest Pansy Canadian Redbud (Cercis). A vine arbor was built to conceal trash cans while providing convenient access.
