After meeting with two other highly regarded local architects for a fairly large two story reno/addition project, my husband and I immediately felt a difference when we met with Mike and Bob of CBH Architects. They asked questions about how we currently used the space that the others didn't ask. They really got to know us so that they could develop a space that was uniquely ours. Something else that really sold us on CBH was the ability to take advantage of their in house interior design services. We did use Mike's expertise and were thrilled with the results!! Mike is also incredibly knowledgeable about older homes and maintaining original details. Mike and Bob created incredibly thoughtful plans for us to choose from and even incorporated fun things for our daughters. After choosing a plan, we enlisted their help in bidding out the plan to contractors. We saw just how out of our depths we would have been if we were to do it on our own. Their knowledge and expertise was priceless. When we started construction, we thought that maybe we'd see them sporadically at best as was the experience of many of my friends who had completed similar projects. Instead, they assumed a project manager role in the process to see us across the finish line. Any issues that came up, both Bob and Mike were there for us to help problem solve and to advocate on our behalf. Not only are Mike and Bob both incredibly competent and creative with their craft, they are both lovely human beings. I am thrilled to recommend them to anyone who is looking to take the next step in their home journey.

The best decision we could have made in our home renovation was to work with Mike, Bob, and Bronia at CBH Architects. Before deciding on them, we met with 4 different companies from our Google searches and in-town recommendations, but no one gave us the thoughtful attention they did. Something that blew me away from the start was the several hours-long meeting we had to kick off the project, where they asked us tons of questions to understand the pain points of our current setup and didn't just look to me to tell them what we wanted. This led us to a design I could have never thought of in my wildest dreams, and we checked off every single box we had. They also led us to our incredible contractors through their RFP process. The project, from start to finish, was on time, on budget, and just a delight. They were in constant communication with us and the contractors throughout the process and every unexpected hitch we came across was smoothed over without our intervention. Not only is our finished product beautiful, but it has also changed our family's quality of life. We will be using them again and recommend them to all our family and friends.

We used CBH Architects for a complete house renovation and addition. The original house was a very old house that had undergone two previous additions, resulting in a house that had a confusing layout with no flow or functionality. While my wife and I had very particular and complex ideas of what we wanted, we had no idea where to start when it came to taking the existing layout and turning it into our dream home. CBH came in and designed us the perfect house. They showed incredible vision and innovation. They also made sure to include us at every step of the process in order to ensure every detail was to our satisfaction. Their final blueprints were so good and meticulous that they made it easy on our contractors, preventing any issues along the way. CBH are the friendliest, easiest people you will ever work with. Building a house is usually a stressful endeavor but they took it and turned it into an exciting, fun process. We owe everything to CBH as they turned a life long dream into a reality.

Bob, Mike, Bronia, and the rest of the team are worth every penny. After arguing amongst ourselves for months about space planning and remodel plans, we finally pulled the trigger and had a consultation with CBH. Immediately we could tell we were speaking with true professionals who cared for of their clients and their project. Their attention to detail, knowledge, practical suggestions, and patience were all top notch. What especially stood out to us was when they made suggestions and we didn't think it would work for us they were incredibly flexible, didn't try and argue their perspective, and got right to work applying our feedback. Can't say enough good things about this company and highly recommend them for your remodel project.

My wife and I hired Bob and Mike for a 3rd time for a partial basement renovation which was completed in December 2022. They did a site visit to study the layout of the basement and then drafted plans in line with our vision of what we wanted. Which was to transform a dank space with low ceilings, almost nonexistent lighting, and lots of visible pipes and wires into a more functional, inviting space. While we found a contractor on our own, Bob and Mike stayed in touch with us during the building process to make a few adjustments here and there based on the contractor's comments, as well as making a site visit during the renovation to ensure all was going according to plan. The final result was all we had hoped for before we started, a basement with added storage capacity, much better layout and lighting and has a place we actually want to spend time in. As with our experience the prior two times we hired them for renovations, they continue to be easy to work with, actively listening and providing ideas to bring our vision to life. I recommend them without hesitation!

We highly recommend CBH Architects. They kept in close contact with us during the construction phase of our project and maintained a strong relationship with our contractor. In the initial design stage, Mike and Bob presented several options for our primary bathroom/bedroom renovation and listened carefully to our feedback. After interviewing a few architects, we decided to go with CBH because Mike has a relaxing demeanor & also is a great listener. The ideas for our home were not only functional (like a game changing hallway from our garage to kitchen that wasn't there before and we don't know how we lived without it!!) but stylish. Mike was able to take my Pinterest boards and make selections for us on tile, wallpaper, fixtures, etc. I find choosing materials so overwhelming so I left it to Mike & it turned out better than we could have ever imagined! We have now completed 3 bathroom complete remodels, 1 living room remodel, and we still have the sunroom to go. I have no complaints, only compliments... thanks!

There is absolutely no way we could've gone through our house renovation without Bob and Mike. We bought a 1957 split level home in late 2019, the owners had it for 30 years and it needed serious updates. We had some general ideas for some improvements as well as some challenges we didn't think could ever be addressed. After becoming a bit overwhelmed, I searched for an architectural firm that could work with us. I reviewed a couple of portfolios of lavish mansions which meant none of those architects would be an appropriate fit for us (I am a house wife, I live in New Jersey but this isn't RHONJ!) I knew the moment I landed on CBH's profile that they were it - a portfolio of real, beautiful homes with impressive before-and-afters. We connected from the very first phone call and site visit around late July 2020 and finalized our plans in October 2020. CBH are clear, professional, transparent and offered us multiple options and solutions for our home. I admit it was hard to select just one design and we were very impressed with the creativity they brought to spaces we thought couldn't be helped - like our incredibly small entryway. We started construction in February 2021 and I'm delighted to be writing this review as we've wrapped up just in time to host Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Our home is perfect for us, it brings us joy every single day - from cooking, to the space in our mudroom, to winding down in a luxurious master bath I never thought could exist within these walls - perhaps these is a little RHONJ in me after all. Mike and Bob guided us every step, answered questions, and truly listened to how we like to live in order to design a space that is fit for our family and our needs. The process of renovating a home is daunting, scary, costly, long (especially if you don't move out like we did!), and sometimes its hard to visualize the outcome. You have to have a team you can trust, that can help you see not just the final vision but also where the challenges and obstacles will arise. We are forever grateful to CBH Architects for working with us, and have already recommended their impeccable firm to friends and family who are looking to improve their homes.

CBH Architects did an amazing job on my project. I knew that its complexity and scope would involve seeking variances from my local authorities (which you can imagine is not a simple process for the uninitiated in New Jersey!). From the outset, Bob and Mike took their time to understand my needs and raised important points for my consideration. They worked directly with a real estate attorney and an engineer to prepare the necessary paperwork and architectural plans. I was impressed with their knowledge of my town's requirements and their willingness to work with the authorities on securing the necessary permits/variances. One thing that I deeply appreciated was CBH's oversight of the entire project. Mike sought my input when it was needed and updated me as major milestones were completed. He handled a number of items in the background, which brought me peace of mind in knowing that the project continued to move forward as I became busy with other priorities.

It was my first house purchase. i loved the bones of the home but there was a lot that needed to be done before i knew it was my home. before i signed the final papers i walked through the home with Mike from CBH Architects and talked about the things i hoped to do but was unsure if they could be done. CBH helped design a new garage for my home. Bob and Mike were both professional and personable and I highly recommend them. They listened to what we wanted but also helped us think about how our needs may change in the future. They also helped us think about how to maximize the value of our home for resale down the road.

CBH Architects competed both the design and construction drawings for my finished basement. They worked with me to squeeze in a ton of functionality, utilizing as much space as possible. The footprint of my basement is relatively small, but we managed to include a laundry room, exercise room, large entertainment area with bar, full bath with steam sauna, and ample closet space and storage throughout. A design that turned my submarine of a basement into a yacht. They collaborated well with the general contractor I chose, working together to adjust and adapt the design when obstacles arose.
