And of course, a grand pool in the backyard, transforming the space into the ultimate personal retreat for the homeowners.

This project was a major renovation in collaboration with Payne & Payne Builders and Peninsula Architects. The dated home was taken down to the studs, reimagined, reconstructed and completely furnished for modern-day family life. A neutral paint scheme complemented the open plan. Clean lined cabinet hardware with accented details like glass and contrasting finishes added depth. No detail was spared with attention to well scaled furnishings, wall coverings, light fixtures, art, accessories and custom window treatments throughout the home. The goal was to create the casual, comfortable home our clients craved while honoring the scale and architecture of the home.

This home remodel is a celebration of curves and light. Starting from humble beginnings as a basic builder ranch style house, the design challenge was maximizing natural light throughout and providing the unique contemporary style the client’s craved. The Entry offers a spectacular first impression and sets the tone with a large skylight and an illuminated curved wall covered in a wavy pattern Porcelanosa tile. The chic entertaining kitchen was designed to celebrate a public lifestyle and plenty of entertaining. Celebrating height with a robust amount of interior architectural details, this dynamic kitchen still gives one that cozy feeling of home sweet home. The large “L” shaped island accommodates 7 for seating. Large pendants over the kitchen table and sink provide additional task lighting and whimsy. The Dekton “puzzle” countertop connection was designed to aid the transition between the two color countertops and is one of the homeowner’s favorite details. The built-in bistro table provides additional seating and flows easily into the Living Room. A curved wall in the Living Room showcases a contemporary linear fireplace and tv which is tucked away in a niche. Placing the fireplace and furniture arrangement at an angle allowed for more natural walkway areas that communicated with the exterior doors and the kitchen working areas. The dining room’s open plan is perfect for small groups and expands easily for larger events. Raising the ceiling created visual interest and bringing the pop of teal from the Kitchen cabinets ties the space together. A built-in buffet provides ample storage and display. The Sitting Room (also called the Piano room for its previous life as such) is adjacent to the Kitchen and allows for easy conversation between chef and guests. It captures the homeowner’s chic sense of style and joie de vivre.

The client’s current bathroom style did not fit their taste. It was outdated and traditional while they craved a modern oasis. Additionally, they wanted a larger shower with a bench plus another vanity and sink. We gutted the space, removing the outdated fixtures including a non-functioning jacuzzi tub and the shower. We added an additional sink and gave them more storage with modern, floating vanities. We gave the shower a much needed overhaul by increasing the size, adding more glass and a large bench seat. A new air bubble tub was installed with a tile surround to match with the shower.

Design by Peter Salerno, Tile was bought at Artistic Tile, This was the People's Choice for Best Kitchen by HGTV at KBIS in 2016, the North East Sub Zero Design Competition Regional Winner, as well as an award winner by the NKBA. This kitchen features the color scheme most people think of when they imagine "transitional." We put a twist on it by creating a new door style to break away from the over-done and simplistic shaker door, mixing in a custom hood by Rangecraft, adding some polished tin on the ceiling, and having an entire wall covered in water jet marble tile. This is a truly royal space for people that crave modern design.

The original bathroom consisted of an oversized, built-in jetted bath that consumed more real estate than needed by today’s standards. The tiny shower was in a separate room next to private the water closet. The clients wanted to keep the private water closet but craved more counter space. The only natural light in the room was a large picture window above the tub. We decided to forgo the tub in Lieu of a larger shower. We utilized the extra space in one of the closets. The window was frosted to allow the natural night to enter the room without compromising privacy. The removal of the wall allowed an 8-foot expanse for double sinks divided by a linen tower. Cabinets are painted in charcoal and provide a natural contrast to the white quartz counters. The client’s aversion to multiple finishes was soothed by providing matte black fixtures, and lighting.

This is our first canopy for Caracole and we think it is over the top. At a height of 102 inches, it is a perfect solution for that elegant master bedroom that craves a statement bed but not one that shouts at you. We finished the bed in a soft metallic Pearl finish that will work with anything. Since bedrooms should be soft, we upholstered the headboard in a natural colored linen that has a fleck of metallic in it. Then we quilted the border of the headboard and entire footboard for added interest and finished off the edges with a dressmaker detail of grosgrain ribbon. Note that this bed is only available in King and Cal King. When the owners of this classic 1910 Foursquare engaged us to design and build a remodel, they were close to selling and moving on. Undeterred, our design-build team came up with a thoughtful plan that offered the modern livability they craved while respecting historical character of Nashville's West End area. We built a rear addition for a first-floor master suite, powder room and kitchen with a walk-out basement. Its hipped roof mirrors the main house’s and fits right under a second-story window. We also built a new screen porch and large deck and opened the kitchen to the remodeled family room. Custom-built columns and casework conceal a structural beam. Shaker-style cabinets in both master bath and kitchen are topped with Cambria quartz countertops. The latter’s two-toned treatment adds visual interest and texture.
