This kitchen took a tired, 90's builder kitchen and revamped it into a personalized gathering space for our wonderful Centennial family. The existing space was in good condition, but carried a visual weight and functionality that was overall displeasing for our clients. Our clients desired a central gathering island where their family of 5 can sit and dine together or events can be hosted outside of the formal dining room. The old oak cabinets weren't maximizing storage and were dated and orange. We removed a half wall that used to be a desk area inside of the kitchen to create a sprawling island easily capable of hosting 6 guests. We used Waypoint Living Spaces cabinets in Silk around the perimeter of the kitchen: stacking cabinets to create a tall, dramatic look around the space. On the south wall, we created a hutch-like stack that features seeded glass panels in the upper and lower cabinet doors. These allow china and colorful dishes to be displayed for a pop of fun color in an otherwise quietly neutral space. The island cabinets are a dramatic contrast in Ultracraft's Truffle paint with oversized island legs for a more furniture-like feel. The island countertop is Caesarstone Quartz in Frosty Carrina, and the perimeter is MSI Quartz in Lagos Azul. The handsome, structured cabinet hardware is from our friends at Amerock in a gorgeous oil rubbed bronze. The island chandelier is a gorgeous 7 light open frame bronze fixture from Hinkley Lighting. One of the most striking features in the space is the countertop-to-ceiling glass mosaic tile. This mosaic is a delicate hand-blown stained glass look. It captures a wide range of light and color tones, and looks different from every angle in the room. Our clients commented that, at night when the other lights are off, the backsplash feels like a distant city glittering beyond. We love the way this space turned out and are so happy that our clients now have such a warm and welcoming gathering space as the heart of their home!

The Glenview Haus Transitional Collection of front doors delicately balances form and fashion to create contemporary, minimalist front entry ways. These designs encompass oversized door systems, flush doors, and floating paneled structures, which suit many of today’s eclectic homes. Crisp, narrow lines, large, uninterrupted glazed openings, and precise horizontal and vertical alignments complement many architectural styles.

Steeped in history, the recently renovated interior of this home in Old Town Alexandria pays homage to its storied past while embracing modern elegance. This collaborative project artfully merges the charm of an historic residence with contemporary elements, showcasing a delicate balance of old-world character and refined sophistication. Retaining original architectural features, the design intertwines gracefully with updated fixtures and bespoke furnishings. Draperies in updated fabrics, layered over automated Hunter Douglas Silhouette® Sheer Shades, add a timeless allure, harmonizing tradition and innovation seamlessly within the heart of this historic dwelling.

A diamond in the rough was polished to a new brilliance in this remodel. Moving the kitchen to be front and center of everything was the key to this remodel. Carrying the motif of less is more, this remodel emphasized the qualities this Parisian-styled home had with a modern open floor plan. Working through different design studies with the client, we identified the optimum layout and created space for an additional bedroom. Fusing old world details with contemporary living, we ensured the rehabilitation pays homage to its original detailing while expressing a bold narrative, delicately balanced within the original structural framework. Careful detailing of the structural elements ensured the work could proceed without affecting the unit below. Completed in 2014, this home now offers its young family the full urban experience of stylish San Francisco living.

This is the master bathroom, one out of three bathrooms in the home. Featured are double sinks, countertop and shower wall is Venus 8901 Leathered Quartz which flawlessly mimics black marble with the richest dark tone contrasted with delicate white multidirectional movement. We’re enthusiastic proponents of taking big chances in small rooms. A bold design choice won’t be overwhelming in tiny doses, so why take the safe route of a white kitchen when you can have soft blush? This NYC galley kitchen sports Farrow and Ball’s “Calamine” in a velvety matte sheen. The delicate hue is grounded by honed black granite countertops and a black range. Though the pink and black scheme may be reminiscent of 50’s-era bathroom tiles, there’s nothing retro about this space. Frameless full-overlay cabinets maximize interior storage capacity, and the stepped Shaker doors lend contemporary flair. Continuity is maintained by the paneled appliances. Streamlined knobs and pulls feature a brushed gold finish. To temper both the pink and black, a white geometric backsplash tiles were selected; the white metal hood virtually disappears against them. A cozy window seat with a wide drawer below is a focal point in the room; it’s flanked by custom cabinets that extend down to the seat and combine open and closed storage. The surprise element is the pop of thick natural white oak display shelves over the sink. The whole look is completed with metal dome pendants, spray painted to match the cabinetry. A minimal insertion into a densely wooded landscape, the Collector’s Pavilion provides the owners with an 8,000 sf private fitness space and vintage automobile gallery. On a gently sloping site in amongst a grove of trees, the pavilion slides into the topography - mimicking and contrasting the surrounding landscape with a folded roof plane that hovers over a board formed concrete base. The clients’ requirement for a nearby room to display a growing car collection as well as provide a remote area for personal fitness carries with it a series of challenges related to privacy and security. The pavilion nestles into the wooded site - finding a home in a small clearing - and merges with the sloping landscape. The building has dual personalities, serving as a private and secure bunker from the exterior, while transforming into a warm and inviting space on the interior. The use of indirect light and the need to obscure direct views from the public right away provides the client with adequate day light for day-to-day use while ensuring that strict privacy is maintained. This shifting personality is also dramatically affected by the seasons - contrasting and merging with the surrounding environment depending on the time of year. The Collector’s Pavilion employs meticulous detailing of its concrete to steel to wood connections, exploring the grounded nature of poured concrete in conjunction with a delicate wood roof system that floats above a grid of steel. The Ascension - Super Ranch on Acreage in Ridgefield Washington by Cascade West Development Inc. Another highlight of this home is the fortified retreat of the Master Suite and Bath. A built-in linear fireplace, custom 11ft coffered ceilings and 5 large windows allow the delicate interplay of light and form to surround the home-owner in their place of rest. With pristine beauty and copious functions the Master Bath is a worthy refuge for anyone in need of a moment of peace. The gentle curve of the 10ft high, barrel-vaulted ceiling frames perfectly the modern free-standing tub, which is set against a backdrop of three 6ft tall windows. Inspiration for a mid-sized ceramic tile and beige floor foyer remodel with beige walls

This remarkable renovation reimagines an entire lower level into a multi-room retreat that reads less like a basement and more like a private members' club. Every inch was designed with intention — layering bold textures, curated art, and a confident mix of moody and luminous palettes to create a space that is simultaneously dramatic and deeply livable. Main Living Area The heart of this renovation is a sweeping living room where refined restraint meets expressive design. Walls are finished with architectural fluted millwork banding near the ceiling — a detail that adds rhythm and sophistication without overwhelming the space. Flanking panels of delicately patterned textured wallpaper frame a striking large-scale abstract canvas in black, white, and gold, which serves as both the focal point and the color story for the entire room. Paired frosted glass capsule sconces with warm brass fittings illuminate the artwork from either side, casting a soft, gallery-like glow. The furniture selection is equally considered: a generous cream linen sofa anchors the primary seating area, complemented by a pair of sculptural dark leather swivel lounge chairs with a stone travertine pedestal side table nestled between them. A plush velvet ottoman, a brass arc floor lamp, and a soft gray area rug over wide-plank hardwood floors complete the composition with quiet luxury. Bar & Entertainment Area The bar is nothing short of a showpiece. Custom cabinetry in a sophisticated greige-gray, featuring a mix of flat-panel and reeded/fluted door fronts, is crowned with a jaw-dropping geometric faceted tile backsplash. The tile — a mosaic of black, white, and metallic stone set in a kaleidoscopic diamond pattern — catches the light and shifts dramatically depending on the angle. A pair of oversized brass dome pendant lights hang above a sleek island topped in richly veined dark marble, providing both task lighting and a glamorous focal point. Open shelving built into the backsplash wall displays sculptural art objects — including a carved Buddha head and white abstract sculptures — reinforcing the home's gallery aesthetic. A brass spring-coil faucet, integrated beverage refrigerator, and patterned swirl-print ottomans tucked beneath the island make this bar equally functional and unforgettable. Game Room A complete tonal departure, the game room embraces deep, moody drama through floor-to-ceiling dark olive green walls and ceiling. A large-format sage green square tile accent wall grounds a wall-mounted flat screen TV, while a mahogany billiard table with slate blue felt takes center stage on a vintage-style area rug. A sculptural brass sputnik chandelier overhead adds a touch of glam that keeps the space from feeling too heavy. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with natural light and offer serene woodland views — a beautiful contrast to the room's intentionally dark interior palette. Sitting Room A quieter counterpart to the more dramatic spaces, the sitting room offers a warm, neutral sanctuary. A modern channel-tufted sofa in warm gray is dressed with rust terracotta and watercolor sage pillows. A sculptural tub chair in textured charcoal fabric, a pair of curved bronze ottomans with ribbed white upholstery, and a small dark marble side table complete a seating vignette that feels curated and calm. Signature Art Installation Perhaps the most conversation-starting element in the entire project is a bespoke wall sculpture: dozens of white ceramic pods with gold-leafed interiors, arranged in a sweeping, wave-like pattern across a stairwell or hallway wall. The installation bridges art and architecture, transforming a transitional space into a destination.

Our Windmill Ranches residence was designed for an amazing family with a true passion for art and design. Its delicate sloped roof volumes float above the site capturing the stunning views of the lake, while dramatic double height living areas maximize the relationship between the interiors and the exteriors. The master suite features its own private wing enjoying deep intimate views of the landscape, while a floor to ceiling glass bridge connects it to the rest of the home.

The owners requested a Private Resort that catered to their love for entertaining friends and family, a place where 2 people would feel just as comfortable as 42. Located on the western edge of a Wisconsin lake, the site provides a range of natural ecosystems from forest to prairie to water, allowing the building to have a more complex relationship with the lake - not merely creating large unencumbered views in that direction. The gently sloping site to the lake is atypical in many ways to most lakeside lots - as its main trajectory is not directly to the lake views - allowing for focus to be pushed in other directions such as a courtyard and into a nearby forest. The biggest challenge was accommodating the large scale gathering spaces, while not overwhelming the natural setting with a single massive structure. Our solution was found in breaking down the scale of the project into digestible pieces and organizing them in a Camp-like collection of elements: - Main Lodge: Providing the proper entry to the Camp and a Mess Hall - Bunk House: A communal sleeping area and social space. - Party Barn: An entertainment facility that opens directly on to a swimming pool & outdoor room. - Guest Cottages: A series of smaller guest quarters. - Private Quarters: The owners private space that directly links to the Main Lodge. These elements are joined by a series green roof connectors, that merge with the landscape and allow the out buildings to retain their own identity. This Camp feel was further magnified through the materiality - specifically the use of Doug Fir, creating a modern Northwoods setting that is warm and inviting. The use of local limestone and poured concrete walls ground the buildings to the sloping site and serve as a cradle for the wood volumes that rest gently on them. The connections between these materials provided an opportunity to add a delicate reading to the spaces and re-enforce the camp aesthetic. The oscillation between large communal spaces and private, intimate zones is explored on the interior and in the outdoor rooms. From the large courtyard to the private balcony - accommodating a variety of opportunities to engage the landscape was at the heart of the concept. The clients wanted a refresh on their master suite while keeping the majority of the plumbing in the same space. Keeping the shower were it was we simply removed some minimal walls at their master shower area which created a larger, more dramatic, and very functional master wellness retreat. The new space features a expansive showering area, as well as two furniture sink vanity, and seated makeup area. A serene color palette and a variety of textures gives this bathroom a spa-like vibe and the dusty blue highlights repeated in glass accent tiles, delicate wallpaper and customized blue tub. This is a perfect example of how we work, and why our clients choose to work with us once they meet us. Kitchen remodel is not only about buying Cabinets. It’s much, much more than that. Bold backsplash tiles, elegant 36” professional hood, light rail moldings, pull out Drawers and organizers inside of the cabinets, LED lighting on dimmer switches all combined with new matching wood flooring made this kitchen stand out in this space. Cabinets, Countertop and design were provided by RAJ team, along with other collaborative team work between our recommended General Contractor and our client. These Northern Virginia residents have owned this vacation home for about ten years. With retirement imminent, they decided to give the entire home an over-haul. With it’s great bones and amazing location, this seemed like a very sound investment for their future. Paola McDonald from Olamar Interiors had been working with the clients for the past three years, helping them to renovate their Sterling, VA condominium and their Moorefield, WV weekend home. It seemed fitting that they would also hire her to help them renovate this home as well. For this project we took the home down to the studs and practically rebuilt it. The renovation includes an addition to the basement level and main floor to create a new fitness room, additional guest bedroom and larger kitchen and dining area. It also included a renovation of the facade of the home. The exterior of the home was completely re-sided and painted, and we added the tall windows at the stairs. The lower entry deck was expanded and an upper deck was added just off the kitchen in order for the homeowner to keep his grill away from the strong ocean winds. A new deck was also added off of the master bedroom. New stainless steel railings were added to all the decks. We opened the homes stairwells, adding custom glass railings and new lighting to create a much more open feel and allow for natural light to flood the entire main living area. The original, tiny kitchen was expanded substantially, adding a large custom eat in bar, wine storage area and plenty of storage. We utilized Decora’s Marquis Cabinetry in an espresso finish to give the kitchen a very clean, contemporary feel. Carrara marble countertops paired with a grey quartz, single slap marble backsplash, and stainless appliances create a clean look. In the new dining area, a simple Modloft dining table was paired with a Regina Andrew bubbles chandelier and Jessica Charles dining chairs for a sophisticated feel accentuated perfectly by beachy colors and textures that tie in the beautiful views of the Ocean. A custom chandelier from John Pomp is the highlight of the family room, particularly at night when it is reminiscent to fireflies in the sky. A new custom designed, custom made sectional, cozy newly added Spark Modern Fires gas fireplace, custom rug by Julie Dasher and Lee Industries chairs create a cozy place to lounge and watch television after a long day at the beach. Guests feel like they are in a luxurious boutique hotel complete with spectacular views, comfortable Ann Gish linens and beautiful and unique lighting fixtures. All three full baths and the powder room received complete facelifts with new glass, marble and ceramic tiles, Decora cabinetry, new lighting fixtures, quartz countertops and unique features that make unique statements in each one. Phillip Jeffries mica wallpaper are used in the entryway and family room fireplace walls to add a sandy texture to each space. Phillip Jeffries grasscloth was added to the master bedroom accent wall to create a delicate feature. New flooring throughout includes gorgeous dark stained hardwood floors, ceramic tile and Karastan carpeting in the bedrooms. The crisp white and grey walls are accentuated throughout the home by beach inspired turquoises, navies and lime greens. Cool gray tones envelop the primary bathroom. A custom vanity utilizes the space well, while calacatta quartz wraps the counter and back wall for a luxe feature. Delicate glass shelves between the vanity mirrors showcase perfumes and nail polishes. The bathtub sits center-stage, inviting long hours of relaxation while gazing out over the property through the nearby windows. The shower utilizes every inch of vertical space, providing a bit of impact and drama. Subtle details make a big impact, and just by rotating the wall’s subway tiles 90 degrees, a tall “baseboard” was created throughout the room to elevate the design.
