Last year we were approached by Dior Builders in Chicago, IL to see if we would like to donate tile to one of America's First Healthy Homes. We were very excited to donate tile from three different collections for this house. ” According to the Chicago Tribune, “Dior’s Healthy Home 2018 is the first in the country to be built under the American Lung Association’s revised Health House™ guidelines, featuring everything from energy efficient products and innovative technologies, to green building materials and nontoxic furniture and accessories.” This bathroom features the Parasol pattern. We met Sawyer Greenfield recently and were getting ready to announce him and his two brothers, Carter Wayne & Peter, as the Savvy Giving by Design - Ozarks (based in Bentonville, Arkansas) next recipient family any day. He's a little fighter and has already had to fight since December of 2018 when he was diagnosed with HLH, a rare severe systemic inflammatory syndrome. Treatment involved chemo (although HLH isn't cancer) and steroids over several months. He was finally given the thumbs up in May to finish treatment and be considered in remission. Then, while not feeling well at the end of June 2019, a routine check of how his blood work was looking turned into a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The prior HLH he had been treated for was actually masking the leukemia and when treatment ended it allowed the leukemia to spread quickly. He's now AGAIN facing treatment to fight harder than ever and his family is reeling with the news. There are no words to say how we feel for this amazing family right now!! Our aching hearts are holding on to the fact that Sawyer will be able to enjoy his new room while he goes through all that lies ahead of at least 2 years of treatment. Sawyer loves legos & minecraft so we are busy creating a design plan that blends those hobbies in a room he can grow with. We're asking for your help and support to make these rooms as special as the boys themselves. Burns and Parks Painting teamed up with IDS to donate painting services to the 2014 Dwell with Dignity Project. Dwell with Dignity is a non-profit group of Interior Designers and volunteers dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty. They provide and install home interiors for families that include furnishings and art, bedding and kitchen supplies, and food in the pantry. All furniture and decor are donated items from local families no longer in need of these items. We pick-up these donations, sometimes off the side of the road, and give them a new home. More importantly we give this family, transitioning out of homelessness, a fully furnished home, installing hope.

This is mom's room, which is across the hall from the two little boy's room. The donated trundle bed was perfect for this room, the donated rocker not only looked great in the room but will get plenty of use rocking the little ones to sleep. The picture above the rocker was the icing on the cake.
