This design emphasizes the vertical stature and soaring lines of the space by cladding the most dramatically shaped walls with accent materials. Large-format porcelain tiles with a metallic finish run fifteen feet high, emphasizing the vaulting of the shower area, and drawing the eye up. Shimmering glass mosaic tile accents the vaulted wall opposite, balancing the height of the shower with an effective counterpoint. A large, unobstructed window placed in the bathing area brings soft natural light flooding into the space. In the bathing area, boundaries between the tub and the shower areas are minimized by wrapping the floor tile up the common wall they share, separated only by lead-free, ultra-clear glass. Hawkeye Landscape Design We began this project with the idea of making a friendly entryway and social area under the Mulberry tree which provides much needed shade in this hot, mountainous area. The 'red fescue' meadow grass has a cooling effect and the agaves reduce the need for excess water and maintenance. The backyard has a covered dining area with a corner lounge and fireplace. The large barbecue offers a cantilevered counter for entertaining. The waterfall into the pool is surrounded with bamboo and plantings that emulate the hillside beyond the property. The permeable paving and mix of Vitex and Olive trees provide shade for smaller seating areas to enjoy the variety of succulents throughout the garden

Located in Chelsea, London, this luxury residential living space was designed to capture the elegance of natural onyx stone while offering the durability and practicality of porcelain.
